Good Price and They Work!
These Brita filters are quite a bit less than buying them at my supermarket. Please note that they are the older style Brita pitcher filters. They last for two months of quite heavy use (there are two of us at home full time). Our tap water has so much chlorine that sometimes you can smell it when showering or when hand washing the dishes. The Brita pitcher filters remove all trace of the chlorine taste and smell. We had been using the Brita faucet filter, but the latest models (we tried two) stopped working about after a year or so and had to be replaced. The faucet filter system is rather expensive to last only a year or so - so we switched to the pitcher. The pitcher filters are individually boxed and are very simple to use. Just remove the old filter from the pitcher well, drop the new filter in a glass of water and let sit for a few minutes. Then drop the new filter into the pitcher well and fill the pitcher. Toss out the first pitchers of water (or use on your plants or garden) and then you are good to go! The NEW Brita pitcher filters do NOT have to be placed in a glass of water, but go directly to the the pitcher water well. Read the online description carefully to see if you are getting the old style or the new style filters.

Product as described, great price
I read the reviews for this before buying and wanted to leave my own as the newest review was for a year ago. This is a 10-pack of Brita filters, for a pitcher. They fluctuate a bit in price, but the deal here (I paid $47) is decent. You may be able to find them elsewhere for cheaper, though the warehouse stores do not consistently carry these filters, so it's up to you whether you want to shop around to find them for <$5 each. I ordered these and they got to my house <24h later, which I prefer to driving around town. The deal seems solid. The second point I wanted to address was whether these are "old filters". They are new, unopened, in the org packaging, etc. I don't know that carbon filters even expire, but these look new and work just fine. The water tastes better after being filtered. Finally, some reviews mention that, although the listing is for a 10-pack, it's really just two 5-packs. This is half true. The filters arrived in a big box that looked just like the picture above. When I opened the box, it contained two smaller boxes of five, like you would find at the store. I thought "oh cool, these will be easier to store in my basement than a big box." Each filter is individually wrapped, so I don't see what the big deal is. That said, if you have trouble with 2 x 5 = 10, then these are not for you.

Genuine Brita Filters!
These are genuine Brita filters- the new style with the little thingee on top of the filter. Getting them by the ten-pack saves a lot of money.Brita filters basically make your tap water taste better and are far cheaper and better for the environment than bottled water. In any case, most bottled water is just tap water run thru a filter. Cut out the middle-man and save money!Brita makes a deal about they also make your water safer. Most tap water is completely safe- but this is cheap insurance. For emergency water, just takes those two liter soda bottles, rinse with bleach water and then leave some of the bleach water in. (About 5-10 drops per bottle). Store in a cool dark place. Then when you need them for drinking, run that water thru a Brita filter, which will take out the chlorine taste. Note that Brita filters are not suitable for water that is not safe to drink, but if you use bleach then the filter you're good.

Fabulous Filter. Wonderful Results. Great Buy.
Got the pitcher and a couple of filters from a friend who went back to bottled water (lunatic!). Tried it, liked it. The more I use this filter system, the more spoiled I get for good-tasting water. In my area, I can get probably three months out of a filter. To keep plenty on hand, I use two one-gallon jugs from my bottled water days, and keep filling them up from the filter pitcher. That way I've always got plenty on hand. When the filter's done, I saw it open at the bottom and spread the charcoal granules on a peanut butter sandwich. Makes for a tasty but crunchy snack. HAHAHA! Seriously, I haven't found anywhere in my area to recycle the filters. I've ended up tossing them. But the water tastes so GOOD! If you like water more than beer (the solution to thirst in Mexico) then get a pitcher and a box of these filters. You won't regret it.

More expensive than other brands, but works better
To save money months ago, I bought Costco replacement filters instead of Brita. Costco's are so much cheaper and I usually have good luck with their items. However, I noticed that my filters weren't lasting very long; green slime would start to grow in the pitcher and I'd have to scrub the pitcher and replace the filter. Yuck! After going through 5 filters, I finally began to realize this could be due to the generic filters I was using. I dunno, maybe I just got a bad batch. Anyway, I bought the Brita filters again. It's too early to tell if the green slime will return - if it does, it'll mean I have another problem, one not caused by the filters.

Good deal and improved product
We've been using this model Brita filter since 2000. We used to get them at BJs, but I thought I'd try Amazon, and this 10 pack is the best deal we found on here, especially with the free shipping. That said, this is the first time in history that we haven't had carbon particles in the add-water section of the pitcher. Supposedly, after you install the filter you'll get some carbon particles in the non-filtered section for a few fillings, and then it stops. I can say that in over 7 years, we've never had a filter that didn't leach particles (and I don't mean a picky 5 - 6 particles, but a bunch!). It's never affected the filtered water - just annoying to see them floating around when you add water to be filtered. This is the first time we haven't had that experience, ever.
