5dBi Long Range WiFi for Raspberry Pi - Instructions Included

This worked amazing on the GOGOgate 2 Device. I have my WIFI router far away from my garage, and the Gogogate 2 haves a very small Wifi antenna, so I installed this one and worked perfect, just be sure that you insert it well on the USB Port

In the attached screenshot you will see that my iMac's built-in adapter receives 15 networks while this adapter can only see three. (Apologies for the censored network and hotspot, it's necessary for our OPSEC). That makes this adapter completely useless to me. We purchased this specifically for PEN Testing and the range is completely unacceptable for most applications. This screenshot was taken with a 7db gain replacement antenna attached to the adapter. The original antenna produced identical results. Whether you are testing, or just an end user, the range of this product is dismal. Also, it's not Mac compatible.

Used this for a retropie project on a raspberry pi b. Not exactly plug and play. With the pi b, you must blacklist the drivers for the on board wifi before the system will use the usb device as default. Easy enough to look up, side note. The blacklisting must take place every time you make a new image 😁

Plug and play operation on a Raspberry Pi running the MotionPie image. Very good range, though I ordered a 10dB antenna to give it that little boost, as it's in a really bad spot. Overall, I am pleased, and will likely buy this again for my next Pi based project.

Works great with my Pi in access point mode in a robot. Range is dramatically improved over the nano-style USB WIFI adapters.
