SeaMaster offers a premium product...but fails when it comes to customer services, manufacturer warranty and attention to detail
Quality product... HOWEVER --- Poor customer service and warranty -- both require significant improvement for the premium price along with product design for ease of use re: toggle switch. In 2012- I purchased a red/white LED T-Top light from Seamaster. Within 2 weeks -- five of the LED's within the strip burned-out. The website states "lifetime warranty" -- but if you actually read it -- they mean lifetime warranty for products dated 2014 and after. The reason for this confusing and potentially misleading warranty is due to the fact that Seamaster utilized a different LED in the pre-2014 lights, and they were defective and burned out. The LED units in in older models visually appear as an "X" shape, and were re-designed and replaced around 2014 as a result with a circular shape LED unit.Seamaster offered to replace the LED units in my broken LED strip with the newer LED units at a cost of $75. Notwithstanding that the product was defective and they admitted so. Given that Seamaster does manufacture a "premium product" -- I expected a better resolution to the expensive and defective LED strip I purchased in 2012.Due to the fact that the newer units had compatible rigging, I reluctantly purchased the new tri-color LED strip. The LED units are much improved.I have only used it for one day so far and note 2 major problems:First, the unit does not come with simple rigging items and doesn't even provide the screws that are needed to fit the pre-drilled holes in the aluminum housing!!!!! That is pretty bad.Second, the unit is a 2 wire unit but has 3 light colors. This means you have to "toggle" through the colors to get the one you want. So to get "red", you have to hit the rocker switch up to 3 times. The 2 wire design was better served for 2 color lights, where the rocker switch would give you "red" if you press down, and "white" if you pressed up. It is annoying to have to "toggle" -- particularly when multi-tasking.Third, try calling their customer service -- it is option #2 on their toll free number. You get their VM every time.
