X X Baby!
I loved the entire book, the humor was top notch particularly in the Pirate segment but to be honest I wasn't too excited by the prospect of Deadpool going against the X-Men to join the X-Men, but I was proved wrong, Daniel Way is a brilliant writer PERIOD he genuinely gets the character of Deadpool and everything he represents. But the real reason this book gets 5 stars is because of the pirate section, sure there wasn't as much action as there could have been but that's not what I look for in a DP book, what I look for is top notch humor and excellent story and it delivered on both accounts the bit where Deadpool threatens Bob with a stick in order to teach him to talk like a parrot was hilarious and who on Earth hires a blind navigator?!But one can not review one part of this book without the other, warning a few spoilers follow: After DP rescues the island of Jallarka (for some reason that sounds funny to me) Deadpool sets off on his tricked out pirate ship in search of whatever adventure comes his way, after a little soul searching and a lot of hallucinating he finds himself in California and finds what he considers his new purpose in life: To join the X-Men! After getting the cold shoulder from his idols he sets off to prove himself by any means necessary, which basically means there going to be a lot of bullets fired, pancakes eaten and amazing fight scenes!I highly recommend this book to any Deadpool fan or to anyone who just needs a good laugh!

Deadpool Earns a Place Among the X-Men
Collecting: Deadpool #13-18Writer Daniel Way continues his character-defining run on Deadpool. Deadpool finds himself in a completely unusual position for him: he has money, lackeys, and a PIRATE ship! What more could he want? Despite having everything a super-powered mercenary could want, Deadpool finds that something is missing in his life. He finds in existential conversation with a dead shark that his life is empty because he is alone. So, Deadpool with a typical headlong-plunge dives into the deep end of trying to join a super team, the X-Men.Deadpool shows his moves. Domino's deepest fear is revealed. And Wolverine is defeated in way too embarrassing for him to ever speak of again! This graphic novel expertly gives readers and entertaining Deadpool tale that finally weaves the Merc with a Mouth into more complicated relationships with other Marvel heroes. The build up to Deadpool's existential crisis was a bit slow, but the X-Men/Deadpool issues were absolutely excellent.

Totally funny!
I loved this book, and I think Daniel Way is the best writer for Deadpool. Way really brings the character out of its character, thus making it funnier. The first story which I loved was the pirate storyline. The problem was the art for that storyline wasn't very good. Hey, at least it got Bob the Hydra agent. The X-men storyline had alot of good chuckles. Domino and her fear of chickens was a riot. Not to forget the usual complicated Wyle E. Coyote schemes.I don't understand some of the negative comments as they express they hate Way, but still keep reading it. If you don't like Way than stop reading it! Some people actually enjoy the writing.

Great series gets even better
While reading this as a continuation was great for the story, is so makes for a good starting point for new readers interested in Deadpool. With all of the familiar faces of the X-Men any comic fan can sit back and enjoy this read. There are 2 story arcs that split this TON the first is Deadpool the pirate, which sounds stupid but is delivered with the great wry sense of humor we're used to in Deadpool. The second arc is with Deadpool and the X-Men,it's just as funny and you really get into Deadpool's head and see every process and line is done intentionally. You'll enjoy this from start to finish.

Funny, absurd and a little deep
Great book, good continuation from vol 2. Deadpool is basically going through an anti hero mid life crises. His pirate adventure in the begining books are just a fun wild distraction both for the reader and to Deadpool himself.During a conversation with a shark carcass (lol) we learn that DP has started to embrace some surprising realities about himself. Realizing that his defective brain and deformed skin will always keep away those he cares about or wants to care about... its oddly profound, the demented clown actually made me a little sad in this book... but of course he decides to fix his self isolation by causing the WORST media stunt in history, Magneto couldnt have done a beter job of making the mutants look bad to the human race lol. Very funny, very good read.

Good, pirate not as fun as I hoped.
The pirate portion was something I was looking forward to seeing that part. It was funny, but the artwork wasn't as strong as the rest of the book. The arc that has DP trying to joint the X-Men is fantastic. "Cows scare the $#!& out of me!" had me laughing out loud. The book itself is fantastic. Dust cover is as shown in the image, the HC itself though is awesome. All DP HC are the same; black cover, recessed red lettering. The cover says "DEADPOOL" and the spine details the volume. Very slick looking.

Funny 'till the end!
I'm a fan of Deadpool comics, especially by author Daniel Way, and this one has to be one of my favourite issues. The character of Deadpool is both funny and awesome, something not all comic book character can claim of doing well, and this issue shines it through superbly as everyone's favourite Merc with a Mouth decides to become a pirate AND an X-Men in the same issue! The illustrations themselves are wonderful and keep you reading all the way. Overall, if it's a Deadpool comic you want in which Deadpool is, well, himself at his best, this is the comic for you!Price: Very ReasonableShipping: Very fastProduct quality: Excellent

Only Deadpool could mix slapstick with Osborne's Dark reign
As much as I enjoyed the typical weirdness of Deadpool attempting a career as a pirate and the by now classic conversation with a dead shark, it was when we got into the got into his attempt to join the X-men that this volume for me became a classic.Just to summarise this part, Deadpool wants to join up with the X-Men- Cyclops is not keen to say the least; Osborne has a plan to discredit the X-Men involving a fall-guy father of Mercury, two of the very worse H.A.M.M.E.R agents and (of course) a sniper. Both threads actually come together in a perfectly logical way. Deadpool weaving in and out (and when he gets bored cooking 372,844 pancakes-apparently they smell like victory-and have a relevance-no kiddin')Normally two dominant characters Cyclops and Norman Osborne becoming straight men for Deadpool's wackiness-Inspired! Then we see the usually unstoppable Domino being out-manoeuvred on two occasions both in ways worthy of a Marx's brothers film. Aside from that Deadpool's the one who is The Man With The Plan and whose logic whereas you'd not call it rational wins out the day! This is at least a grin a page, if not several out loud chuckles. Even if you do not read Deadpool or the X-men on a regular basis this one is worth it for the blend of comedy, action, thrills and plot/ counterplot. Great entertainment!(I also felt it my duty to raise my grandson's standard of comic book reading by buying him a copy; he was not displeased, although I think he preferred the `pirate' part-ah well)

One of my favourite Deadpool books
Deadpool has recently come into money and decides to splash the cash, purchase a gigantic ship from some shady Russians and head to an exotic island. Naturally.Once there, he runs into some other (real) pirates and, as you would expect, all hell breaks loose.Daniel Way is the definitive Deadpool writer in my opinion. This is really well written, with fun characters, great action and really detailed and easy-on-the-eye artwork.A book I go back to again and again.

Deadpool at his best!
This has gotta be one of my favourite Deadpool adventures, and he's of course at his best. The story basically starts of with him aquiring a lot of money, becoming bored with nothing to spend it on, and deciding to be a pirate for a little bit! He even dresses his trusty sidekick Bob up as a parrot! After getting bored with that he decides he wants to join the X-men. Which is a great read and it manages to get a load of appearances from alot of the X-men so you wont be disappointed.Read it, laugh and love it :)
