'Womack leavens searing EMOTIONAL HONESTY with OBSERVATIONAL WIT and WRY WISE-GUY CHARM as he moves among rock, country and blues.' (The Philadelphia Inquirer) -- A successful singer-songwriter with songs recorded by Jimmy Buffett, Todd Snider, Jason Ringenberg, Dan Baird, Scott Kempner and others, TOMMY WOMACK is the author of the rock memoir cult classic CHEESE CHRONICLES: THE TRUE STORY OF A ROCK N ROLL BAND YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF and the recording artist behind 2007's career-defining THERE, I SAID IT! album, as well as founding member of the band DADDY with the Americana Music Association's instrumentalist of the year Will Kimbrough. A two-time WINNER of BEST SONG in the Nashville Scene's annual 'Best of Nashville' poll, Tommy's fifth solo studio album - NOW WHAT! - picks up where THERE, I SAID IT! left off. He is always writing towards his next book. tommywomack.com

Genius
Tommy Womack is one of the most under rated singer songwriters ever. His wry wit, humor and intelligence will keep in stitches as well as deep thought for a long time. You can also check out his books. Using the same brain to write novellas and an autobiographical story of his days touring with a band (Government Cheese) are brilliant. Why that book isn't a movie is a mystery to me. Get to know Tommy and all of his great talents. You will not be disappointed!

Womack is an incredible find!
I happened to see Tommy Womack live and was intrigued by his songs -- thoughtful, clever and deeply meaningful. So much so that I ordered the CD. I was not disappointed. These songs bear up wonderfully to repeated listening. I am now a convert.

One of the Greatest Talents of Our Time
Hallelulah! It's always cause for celebration when a new Tommy Womack CD is released and I've almost worn out my copy of his last CD THERE I SAID IT. I knew this was going to be a new classic when I had to back up and play the first track (Play That Cheap Trick, Cheap Trick Play) 4 times in my car before I was ready to go on to the second track. It's so hard to describe Tommy's work because it straddles so many genres but it's like Johnny Cash meets Steve Earle meets Bob Dylan with a soupcon of Jimmy Buffet and Sammy Hagar on a tequila bender thrown in. That wonderful mash-up of genres is underscored with some of the wittiest, sharpest (and yet most touching) songwriting I've ever heard. His lyrics are so brilliant you WANT to listen to them over and over to make sure you don't miss any of the more subtle nuances. Some of the songs may have "blues" in the title but every song is infused with joy and some of them will actually make you laugh out loud. And not since I read OUR TOWN in high school have I seen an artist more acutely aware that the reality we find ourselves living usually ends up having more value than the dreams we leave behind. One of these days Tommy Womack is going to have the crossover mainstream hit he so richly deserves. After only one listen, I can think of several candidates on this CD.

One of the best artists you've never heard of!
Let me preface this by stating that I'm no Cameron Crowe and can barely string three words together, but I know what I like and I like Tommy's work! His latest effort "Now What?" is the follow up to his well received 2007 release "There, I Said It!". The latter about a man coming to the realization that he's never gonna be a big rock star and that THIS is his lot in life. So having come to that conclusion, now what? Well here we are with a new album of songs that are full of the stuff Tommy's famous for, pot, God, love, sex & family, all delivered in that classic Tommy style. His sense of humor shines throughout the album and especially on Guilty Snake Blues. There's a classic Tommy-ism regarding God, masturbation and kitten killing, all in one sentence! As on "There, I said it!" Tommy's backed by the beautiful voice of Lisa Oliver-Gray (note to self, pick up Lisa's debut CD!). She not only lends her voice, but adds some cool affects such as her response to the aforementioned kitty-cide. Once again, I'm no writer, but all in all, this entire new album is a treasure and will find many spins in the old Super Tuner!
