SunTek68" UV Protection Wind Cheater Vented Canopy Umbrella

I bought this 2 years ago primarily as a sun shade for hiking in very hot/sunny and treeless areas of the western US. I'd owned a less well built golf umbrella, that, despite its weaknesses, served me pretty well for one season. This is far and away superior to my old one. First, the reflective mylar top is amazing at keeping you cooler underneath, and much better at blocking out the UV. Secondly, the wind gusset/venting system is phenomenal. My first non Suntek cheapy died in a moderate gust of wind. I limped through and finished the vacation with it, but it had broken pieces and less coverage. Thirdly, the fiberglass construction gives some peace of mind when there is lightning threatening. Fourthly, I cant believe the amazing price. After owning one for a couple of years -- still going strong and surviving many, many high wind gusts -- I can say the quality of materials, design, and workmanship are second to none. I would gladly pay much more if necessary to get something this well thought out. I use it as a trekking pole when not overhead, and it really doesn't weigh enough more than a carbon fiber pole for me to notice any difference. On the ground, augmented with a 15D silnylon rain poncho, I can quickly setup a 360 degree storm or overnight shelter in a pinch. Versatile, strong, light, inexpensive -- simply amazing. Way to go, Suntek! I'll be doing some hiking with my wife and my niece on different trips this summer, and I'm buying another for them to use, and so that I'll have a spare, just in case. Just get one of these. You will not be sorry!

I first bought this back 7 years ago. It survived mostly intact after years of arizona desert winds and sun. Thought it was time to replace it. So happy with product it has faced the elements and time. Great sun protection it is like a canopy over you.

The umbrella is very large and light weight

I chose this umbrella mostly based on the positive reviews of others, and to use for taking my dogs outside to potty in our rainy and often windy climate. It will also come in handy at the beach in the summer for my husband who much prefers cool weather and shade. The umbrella is huge, the material is very strong, the wind channels a great idea, and while we will have to wait till next summer to try it out in the sun, I'm confident it will provide a great protective barrier.pros: strong canopy material and construction big enough to cover four people, or one person and two dogs can handle the wind attractive canopycons: handle quality feels flimsy and doesn't match that of the umbrella canopy with such a big and heavy umbrella, a push-button opening system would be helpful. This one is manual and is difficult to close (I pinched my finger trying to line up the closing apparatus almost too heavy and wide for a child or small adult to useIn general, I think it's a nice and very adequate umbrella with caution being taken on the handle.

Blocks the sun and rain real well, but have not had any hard wind to see if it folds on me.

This umbrella has the best UV Sun protection!I recently had work done on my face.I cannot feel the sun when I use this umbrella.It’s amazing at keeping the UV rays away!

I bought this umbrella to use in the summertime to keep cool. We attend outdoor concerts at a local winery and it gets so hot waiting in line (the earlier you go, the closer you can get to the stage) plus I burn easily. I used a regular umbrella and a golf umbrella at the other concerts but the sun still came though and there was no shade. After looking for different ways to keep the sun off of me, I found this umbrella on Amazon and bought it just in time for a concert on the hottest, sunniest day of the year (Huey Lewis!). This umbrella is amazing. The sun doesn't penetrate the reflective material so it keeps you a lot cooler than a regular golf umbrella and it's big enough to cover two regular sized outdoor chairs if they are close enough! Most importantly it kept me from getting a sunburn. I haven't used it in the rain or snow yet but I'm sure it works great. Great seller, fast prime shipping too. Highly recommended!

Used for an entire year now. Golfing in the rain and wind, as well as hot sunny days. This umbrella has held up well. No signs of wear. Keeps the sun off nicely in the summer with the UV coating. Use it in my push cart umbrella holder.
