Late Night Tales: Mgmt

Late Nite Tales presents roughly 20 tracks designed to showcase MGMT's various influences. True to the group's second album ( Congratulations ) this collection is a relatively subdued affair, featuring mostly lo-fi, slow-tempo songs. The beauty of this collection is how well these selections fit together, creating a very cohesive whole.Standout tracks include: "Cheree" by Suicide, "For Belgian Friends" by The Durutti Column, "Lord Can You Hear Me?" by Spaceman 3, and of course, MGMT's cover of "All We Ever Wanted Was Everything."As a fair warning, this album may not work for those seeking equivalents to "Kids" or "Electric Feel," who may do better to investigate Neon Indian's latest album  Era Extrana  instead.

I love MGMT, and was looking for some quiet songs to listen to while writing. This is a good deal (2 CDs for the price of 1). You definitely won't find any workout material here, but this is a great moody listen.

very good for chillaxing with acoustic and downtempo tracks. little bit of mixing and effects thrown in on some of the tracks, but it doesn't detract from the overall flow of the mix. good stuff!

Oh man, this is a great Late Night Tales. Hauntingly beautiful. It was, however, missing the nice glossy print of the cover image that I've gotten when I've ordered other Late Night Tales vinyls in the past.

I love the special remix in the end. Been listening to it all night these days.

perfect condition, shipped earlier than expected. Amazing diverse album, i recommend this to anyone with ears and a passion for music. Plus MGMT's cover of the Bauhaus song is amazing.

If you're into psychedelic rock and organic electronic experimentation, this album might be for you. It's also a good starting point for getting to know more music of the artists featured.

Brilliant collection, any time of day. Recommended for anyone with ears (insomnia not required).

Es ist schon faszinierend mit welch traumwandlerischer Sicherheit die beiden Jungspunde von MGMT durch die Musikhistorie wirbeln. Das Duo hat für die neueste Late Night Tales eine Playlist zusammengestellt, die ihresgleichen sucht. Es werden längst vergessende Perlen der Popmusikgeschichte gekonnt entstaubt und wieder auf Hochglanz poliert. Ein einzigartiger Hörgenuss, ähnlich stark wie die Air-Folge dieser Reihe.

Incredible post punk compilation, too bad the LP version does not contain Melancholy Man by The Wake.

My favourite record of this year. Nice tunes for late night. Easy to work at night with needle on this plate. Party too:-)

Le "Late night tales" sono raccolte compilate da alcuni artisti.In questo caso abbiamo a che fare con le scelte degli MGMT.Si va dai Suicide ai Velvet Undetground, dalla psichedelia anni '80 e '90, Julian Cope e Spacemen 3, fino ad una cover dei Bauhaus fatta dagli stessi MGMT.A mio avviso una delle migliori compilazioni della serie.

「深夜に聞きたい音楽」をテーマにしたAzuliの人気コンピシリーズの MGMTセレクトこのシリーズの中では最近のアーティストですね　自分が聴いたことのあるMGMTの曲とはちがう印象のセレクトだと感じました。コンセプトである「深夜」の雰囲気はでていると思います「曲目リスト」と「商品の説明」が詳しく書いてあるのでそれをみて興味があれば是非あとMIX CDなので曲は全部つながっています

I've listened to this compilation a few times now - and I've really tried to like it, but it's just not cutting it. There are no real stand out tracks, it's dull and dreary. I'm a massive fan of this series, but this is just dire....
