Zigabob Forehead Thermometer Baby Thermometer Non Contact, No Touch, FDA Approved

Uh, where do I start with this one? I got tired of wrangling my toddler for an armpit temperature, and I was intrigued by the infrared thermometers. This one had decent reviews at the time of purchase and was a reasonable price. Well, talk about a bust. You have to hold the thermometer down and scan the forehead back and forth for an undetermined amount of time -- sometimes it will beep when it's done, but sometimes it won't (mostly it won't). Also, it is SUPER inaccurate. I took my temperature with this yesterday and it read 99.7...then used our old standby thermometer and it read 98.1! Agh! Not cool. And not to be trusted. I will probably throw this one away and spend a little more on the next one. Don't waste your money!

I've had this thing for almost 2 yrs. now. It seems to work well but the directions!! I've used it every so often when I'm not feeling well. And each time I have to haul out the directions and try and make sense of them. They are extremely poorly written. If they paid a translator they should get their money back. Surely they could find someone who could do a better job. Very annoying!I'll look for another one with proper English directions.

I purchased this thermometer to use at work in patient care. The idea of a "touch less" thermometer was appealing. Unfortunately, it read "red" (fever) on everyone I tried it on! I read the instructions carefully and finally realized it's just the product. Will have to return it and try something else.

Design is great. Easy to use, entertains my three year old when I use it on him ("Am I going to be red or green?") I like the two modes (measure foreheads and other things too). But the repeatability (precision) is terrible. Some repeated measurements varied less than half a degree, which is OK, I guess. Others varied by 2-3 degrees. Not OK. It costs too much for a thermometer that is less precise as a $5 oral thermometer. Accuracy seemed OK, but I didn't test ice and boiling water for a perfect thermometer test. I just measured my fridge, my countertop, and everyone in the family, several times.

Easy to use (once I figured out how to change the degrees from celsius to fahrenheit) Glad this uses AAA batteries (which it did come with). At least when the batteries die, I can easily change them without searching for tiny button cell batteries to fit. Seems accurate, checked my son's temperature with this and then compared it with his temperature taken with a regular thermometer. Both read the same. Also love the fact that I don't have to wake him if I want to take his temperature in the middle of the night.

I never write reviews for products but I always read them before purchasing anything-- however I felt it necessary to review this product. Despite this product's great reviews, I took it out if the box, followed the directions, and got a temperature reading of 108. I cleaned it again (thoroughly with q-tip) and got 107. This continued after thoroughly cleaning the thermometer and forehead many times, all with readings above 103. I've tried it out for several days in my classroom just to give it a chance, and the readings are always 96-97 degrees or 101+. Completely inaccurate.To make matters worse, I have finally given up on this product and decided it was time to return it. But apparently that cannot be done because it requires special shipping. On top of that, the company has emailed me several times to rate their product with 5-stars....Do not waste your money.

The button is difficult to hold down for the few seconds needed to get a reading and when it is used in a warm room it registers very high (false) temperatures. Do not waste you money, get a different one, especially for parents of young children who are more likely to be very worried about high temps. I am a home care nurse and when I have used this item in a home where the heat is on high in the wintertime the Zigabob has registered temps as high as 103 on people (adults) who have oral temps well within the normal range.

It's doing a good Job, very easy to use especially.
