Loss of the Sultana (Expanded, Annotated): Survivor Stories is a reprint of Chester Berry’s 1892 collection of reminiscences of survivors of the Sultana disaster. This edition contains some introductory text and several relevant contemporary documents that provide a top-level description of the causes and aftermath of the tragedy. If one is interested primarily in the terrifying ordeal of the survivors, this volume will suffice. However, it was disappointing that this edition did not contain the sketch-portraits of the survivors in the original publication, which is out of copyright and available free from Google books and probably other sources.

This book tells harrowing stories of the ill fated voyage of the steam boat Sultana. The worst maritime disaster in American history.
