terrible customer service
I bought one of these blenders about 9 months ago. It's a decent blender, not nearly as good as a Vitamix, but decent.recently I noticed a burnt rubber smell when I used the blender and after a few more uses the blade became separated from its rubber base (which was partially shredded). The base is the thing that connects the blade to the motor so the blade will turn....so no base means that the blender was useless.I spent about 20 minutes Googling things like "Bella Professional Blender blade" until I finally cam across Sensioinc.com the manufacturer's site. There's no mechanism to order parts on their site and no one else was selling part for it....however I did find a number for customer service (it is 1-866-832-4843).If it wasn't for the fact that I had seen their product in major stores like Macy's, I would have thought that this was some small fly by night company that didn't have the resources to properly handle websites, customer support etc. I think they are reasonably established, but probably badly runOn my first call I was told that they don't sell the part. Really?! The guy said "I've never heard of that part breaking before." I suppose implying that they don't need parts because their machine never breaks.I said that the blender was useless without the part. Then I was told if I found the receipt, since I bought it less than a year ago, I would get a refund. I went and dug out the receipt and called back the next day. When I called back I was told I would only get a pro-rated refund (almost nothing since I had less than 3 months of warantee left), so I was about to abandon the effort when I mentioned that I would be prepared to pay for a blade. Then I'm told that they do have the blades, just not in stock right now.So then I give her my shipping address....only to discover that I have to call back in 6 weeks to see if it is in stock and order it then. Can't I give you the order now, even if I have to wait 6 weeks? No. Apparently they don't have calendars at Sensio. That's my situation as of this writing. I think I'm going to buy another blender from a different manufacturer rather than try to resurrect this one.I guess if the product didn't break my experience with it would be fine.....and that may be the case with many people. But given this experience, I felt like warning anyone considering buying any of their products that if there was any problem, they were going to be in for possibly irreconcilable problems
