Not a sound dampner at all. It's supposed to be a three layer drape. I received it with 2 layers and hence the absence of the dense layer made it ineffective.

We were due for new black out curtains. My husband put up 1 panel next to the older ones and omg what a difference!I LOVE how SOFT they are, they are great quality with some weight to them. I absolutely enjoy that the back of them actually matches the front and its not a big white looking sheet on the back. Front and back of the panels are exactly the same. We were so impressed we bought more and updated our daughters too!

I work nights and need to sleep through the mornings. Somewhat see-through, which does let minimal light in, but still manages to keep the room near dark. That might be a deal breaker for some but it allows me to sleep through the morning with the brightest sunlight directly on my window.

I was skeptical after ordering when I read the reviews. Very happy to say that this curtain is amazing! I never knew this type of single curtain existed for patio doors but so glad I found it. Material is just what I wanted, keeps out the light very well from my south facing patio door that gets sun basically ALL day! But still light enough that it's not bending my curtain rod. I will order more colors for sure!

These are quality curtains. When I pulled them out of the box I was like ooh, these are soft. I wanted to drape them around my body, but sadly I didn't. My closet has no doors, so I used the curtain to close it off. The size, color and quality are great. Sometimes I "accidentally" brush the curtain with my body.. oh so soft.

I do love these even though they had to be shortened a bit but I knew that beforehand.Worth the price.They got three stars because I reached out to the seller four times and never heard back so bad customer service in my opinion.
