Full disclosure: I am a first-time dash camera owner. That said, I am a tech professional and did a ton of research before deciding that this model was the best value for me. Just got the dash camera delivered this past week, and it did not disappoint.Its got amazing video quality, and I found it very easy to setup. Lots of settings I have not played with yet, but it seemed to work well out of the box. The larger display size is nice - particularly because I have it monitoring my rear camera.A few things to note: I found that the "Quick Start Guide" on Cobra's website has a lot more useful information than the printed version in my box. And the Voice Commands feature is really really cool; worked very well for me - I use "Take photo" and "Lock Video" a lot! Finally, there are two free apps that work with this camera, Cobra iRadar and Drive Smarter. I have been using the second one a lot more - and found it to be nifty. Made it easy to connect my iPhone with the dashcam, and update the camera's firmware. I've been using it to share videos - so convenient to not have to remove the camera from my vehicle or pop out the SD card.All in all - "Two thumbs up" for me!

Very unsatisfactory. Cannot connect to dash cam Wi-Fi with drive smarter and cobra iRadar apps seem to be very insignificant if you don’t establish connection between the dash cam and your phone. Keep calling the cobra customer service but no answer.Don’t buy, think twice and save your hard earned money.

Camera worked GREAT for exactly one week. Now it will not turn on at ALL. Tried different cables and outlets. Every time I call cobra customer service the Caller limit is maxed out and I get hung up on. Extremely discouraging considered how much I paid.

The camera itself is good, when it works. Most of the time I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get out to turn on and start recording. And the app!!! What a joke! I got this model thinking I'd be able to connect to the camera and view the videos thru the app. HA!! Good luck getting it to EVER connect. I should have listened to all the reviews. I've started my return and will be sending it back.

Could not get the app to pull down the data from the device. I wound up calling the factory and found out that they have a firmware problem and there is no fix at the moment. That has now been months and still no hardware update. I had an older Cobra camera that lasted several years and never had any issues. NOT this one!!

Finding the right dash camera with all the selection out there today can be daunting so I'll tell you our experience and why we chose the SC 201 from Cobra. I also added some unboxing images bc that's important to me. Shape/Size, video quality, forward facing and in cab facing, and brand recognition were key factors when making our decision. There are all sorts of shapes and sizes out there now. A small sleek profile that doesn't block visibility was step one. Next we wanted HD/clear video quality 1080P bc what's the use if you can't make anything out clearly if and when we ever wanted to share for fun or when we actually needed it. We have young kids and if you do, you know the best things that ever come out of their mouths are in the car.. When else are we all in one place together without electronic distraction and have time for conversation... Lastly, we couldn't pronounce half the brands out there let alone trust the ones we could and have never heard of. My husband has had Cobra CB's in his trucks over the years and has their marine radios on our boat. Never had issues so we started and ultimately ended here because they have been around for ever and no reason why they wont be for a ling time. Also we found they have every applicable type or use case dash cam you could want.Product itself came with everything we needed including the SD card. We are happy with the size (I'll update with the mounting location in our truck later) and the mounting bracket provides flexibility and is small when you don't have the camera mounted. First couple trips around town and really pleased (actually surprised) on the quality of the video. Has already provided mediation in a dispute, which I won, and for the record after reviewing the tape HE was supposed to defrost the fish for dinner that night.. :)

I have been looking for a dashcam for a few weeks. I wanted something easy to use and set up with just some basic features. This dashcam goes above and beyond. It has front and rear video and both have fantastic picture quality in day or night driving. The front dashcam is a great size, takes up minimal windshield space, and the HD video display covers the entire backside of the unit for maximum screen size with no wasted space. The rear dash cam is the same with a small size dashcam so it's not in the way when I look out my rearview mirror. Rear cam picture is also HD Video and displays on the fronts screen if you want or change the setting for no display. Here is where this dashcam goes above and beyond, it has a built-in Forward Collision warning system and Lane Departure Warning. It's like upgrading my car! This dashcam has alerts for red light cameras and road hazards. I downloaded the app and didn't even need to call customer service to help, simple to set up and understand. Great price and I am thrilled.

also, it would greatly help if there was a phone number that could be called to get help with technical support.you know, with a real person here stateside so we could actually understand them!
