Aliens vs. Predator 2

AVP 2 is a timeless classic based on the movies and comics and it is essentially an action packed first person shooter with detailed levels, a good and interesting storyline and characters and plenty of enemies and weapons based on the franchise i.e. the movies and comics of the same name.All the weapons from the movies (namely Aliens) are in the game including the pulse rifle, flamethrower, smartgun and grenade launcher for the marine, netgun, spear, disc and laser gun for the Predator and claws, tail and headbite for the Alien.You start out when playing the Alien as a facehugger,then advance or move on to chestbuster then a regularAlien.The levels are creepy, claustrophobic, atmospheric andwell detailed. The music is moody as well and changeswhen enemies are nearby.I have not tried multiplayer yet, but the single playergame is great.All in all a great game based on the movies.

This is still the King of games set in the Aliens universe. I played the original Aliens vs Predator when it came out for free on Steam, then tried this one. AvP 2 is slightly dated, but still playable. The Marines campaign is less claustrophobic than in the original (the shoulder lamp helps a LOT), but still contains great atmosphere and a few great jump scares.The ways in which the three storylines weave together is clever and will make you smile when you recognize "yourself" from another campaign. The dialogue and voice acting are a little lacking, but I have to salute the game for storytelling ambition. I wish they would make a modern sequel to the series of this caliber.

It reminded me very much of Half Life and plays like the classic type of FPS game that we all love. You settle right into it. Full of great scenes and action,.....the bad guys and the creatures are highly aggressive, let me tell you. I like to play games like Call Of Duty at Veteran difficulty setting,....and this game had my adrenaline going. This one was a delight to play and is well made,....don't be put off by the age of it. Much fun.

Go it but it doesnt work in Win7. Checked a few websites and there are VERY DETAILED workarounds to make it work and maybe one day I'll do them but its def not plug-play for win7 (maybe with Pro version in XP Mode but I'm using Home Premium). Still one of my fave games of all time. I just broke down and bought the 2010 AVP on Steam. Its no AVP2 but it helps me scratch the itch (a little).

Could not have arrived faster or in better condition. Despite limited graphics by today's standards the game has a better story and atmosphere than many, many games with far better graphics.
