Feng Shui Your Life: Second Edition

One of the best books I've ever read
I first tried feng shui as a teenager, where all I could do was my room since I lived with my parents. Almost NOTHING improved - not money, career, love, health, family...a little boost in reputation, but not much. I swore off feng shui for years due to my lame experience. That experience was after reading a different book about it, not sure if I should mention it's title, but it's a quick read, and turns it into pop culture rather than embodying the real heart and soul of feng shui.I felt compelled to try it again about two weeks ago. I got this book because it seemed like the best, and there was no way I wanted anything like the previous book. This has a pretty long portion that talks about clearing clutter, the mind, and other things instead of a bunch of quick fixes like the previous book I had. I found this book to be beautiful to look at, easy to read and understand, and follows a logical sequence - clear clutter, clean, and then worry about adding enhancements.Right now I am inbetween the clearing clutter and cleaning steps. I have different things going on in different baguas, and am using intuition about where to begin, and whether or not to take a break and focus on a different area. I swear clearing clutter makes a difference in how I feel - I seriously do feel open to new things in my life and am breaking free of the old. I notice it with my bookshelf in particular. I have so much stuff to sell online that my clutter got worse in two baguas because that is where I am keeping it until it sells, and the energy there seems more stressful with the newly present clutter. But maybe I am just particularly sensitive.Since it's only been about two weeks and I'm definitely not done yet, I won't jump to conclusions about what results I will have manifested. But so far I have had a less than perfect outcome with a bogus bill I was fighting, but it still could have been worse. I thought it was over with, but I heard back from those people wanting it paid, but at least I got it reduced. It's on it's way out of my life, you can say. I got more insight on how I can express my creativity, because that was on my mind a few weeks before getting into feng shui again. I haven't acted on it yet because I am too busy with this stuff, but I have a sense of direction. Whether anything will become of it is yet to be known. I feel like I am more open to new career opportunities, but we'll see what happens. So my bottom line is if you are thinking about feng shui, THIS is the book to get. And my advice from this experience so far is that the real focus shouldn't be on the quick fixes like putting red tape around areas where energy could leak out, or symbolic stuff. It's really about letting go of the old and making room for the new. And once you're open, set your intentions (this book has suggestions on how to set intentions). You can't just think, well, I want to fall in love so I'm buying two pink candles. That comes way later, and it seems like you shouldn't set your intentions without fully letting go of the old and making room for the new.

A thorough and well-written guide to Feng Shui--loved it!
I just finished reading this book last night, and I have already implemented a few of the Feng Shui 'fixes' and suggestions contained within. Although I am rather familiar with Feng Shui and its principles, and created a 'bagua' map of my current home a few years ago, the author delves deeply into material other books just gloss over. Jayme offers well-written explanations of various Feng Shui concepts, as well as many concrete examples of how to apply those concepts, zone by zone and room by room. I found myself reading a chapter or section, and then jumping off the couch and doing an audit of a particular area to see what I could find that could be adjusted of fixed. In particular, I realized how much I had overlooked my attached garage and the clutter/disorder there, even though I enter and exit through that door several times a day. I can tell you that my dumpster is now full to the brim and every shelf and cabinet is a model of order. It is a nice feeling, and am happy that this book gave me a little 'kick in the pants'!For those who are skeptical of the whole Feng Shui idea, there is certainly nothing wrong with skepticism. At first blush, it seems improbable (to those in the West, generally speaking,) that changing colors in a room, hanging a mirror, or rearranging a few pieces of furniture could lead to life-altering changes for the better. The thing is, many of these 'fixes' are laughably simple to implement, cost little or nothing, and are easy to test for oneself. I would recommend giving the concepts a chance and seeing whether good comes out of it. You might just be surprised, and as an offshoot find yourself living in a bright, cheery, clutter-free home that is a welcoming sanctuary for all who enter.......

A suprisingly delightful eye opener!
I bought this book with the sole intention of just feng-shuing my home, nothing more. I want it to look nice. HOWEVER, reading this book opened my eyes to not only myself and my own desires but to those of the people I love, the people I hate, and everyone in between. It Begins by describing the different types of feng shui and HOW they interconnect with your life. I was one of those that thought, "eh that's a load of bull" but Now Im one of those stopping within my thoughts and actions and thinking "is this good feng shui? will this make me happy? will this have positive or negative outcomes?" besides being one of those books that kicks you in the rear and motivates you to get up and clean, its also a very good self help book. who knew? Thanks to this book I find myself excited about every new day and WANTING to be a better person for my cherished ones and the not so cherished lol. A very akunamatata book XD (no worries for the rest of your days sort of phylosophy, c'mon! its from LION KING! XD) The book itself is very beautiful, John Coolidge did a fantastic jjob on the photography and it is def. a book worthy of displaying on your coffee table. You prob. wont put it away anyway, its addicting, and ul read it more than once, I assure you!

Wonderful Inspiring and easy to follow Book
I love Jayme’s Feng shui book! I have been interested in feng shui and its teachings for a long time yet I have been always put down by the complexity of the whole aspect. Jayme’s approach is simple, yet professional. She makes it easy for people like myself to understand and to be able to apply the principles of feng shui into the daily life. She takes away the pressure of wanting to change it all and to find yourself overwhelmed by the complexity of it. I absolutely adored chapter two about the inner feng shui. Something that is not mention a lot, if at all, and yet it plays such an important part of the whole feng shui system. Reading about the inner feng shui makes all the sense to me, again, very easy to apply, and I feel it did opened my eyes wider and it brought me to a whole new different level in my life. For the better of course :-) I can only recommend Jayme’s book!
