Fred Flintstone Bowie
I collect large knives and currently own 2 of the Sawhill Cutlery Ark-N-Saw Bowies. Both of these knives I was able to acquire for under $20 delivered. I also own an $80 KaBar Becker BK9 combat bowie, which some people consider to be the gold standard for large blades. Although I love my Becker BK9, I am not going to tell you that it is 4 times better than the Sawhill Bowie, or even twice the knife. The Sawhill bowie is a roughly finished (full tang) Pakistani blade, but is quite attractive in a primitive sort of way. The laminated wood grips are well done and multi colored. The Sawhill is a great chopper and arrived with a medium sharp edge. Some sites are calling this a stainless steel knife while others list it as tool steel. I believe it is made of tool steel but can't prove it. In any case the Sawhill Cutlery Bowie gets my vote as the best economy knife currently on Amazon. The Sawhill Bowie is admittedly quite a heavy knife, not particularly well suited for backpacking. But if you are in the market for an affordable heavy duty blade and are not weight conscious, you might consider the Ark-n-Saw 9 inch Bowie. I love this knife. And its functional light weight leather sheath is a big step up from the sort of nylon garbage sheaths you normally associate with inexpensive knives. So buy one before the price goes up. Over and out.

what a trip.
Ok lets start by saying this thing is mammoth, I dig the whole knife because of the looks, feel and and country of origin. yes i know it's Pakistan but how it looks gives you the feeling of, hay thats kinda cool, it looks like a knife made of traditional Pakistan methodsweather this is good or bad depends on your view, BIG, OVER THE TOP, AND COLORFUL! . The file look with all it's little imperfections, the handles multi colored wood, the big robust brass guard all give this knife it's character. I for one collect knives and appreciate all the above qualities. and for the price you wont hear me complain. By the way, after seeing a fellow on youtube chop away at a good size log like it was nothing makes me like it even more because I love work horse knives.Get one, appreciate, enjoy it

Unflattered by it's maker but good
Ok, This knife is a little overweight but puts its weight in the right places. She has a unique appearance due to the fact this "ARK 'N SAW" title is fully Pakistani.Initially I was ready to put it back in the box and put it on the night train,as a reject. My daughter played with it a few minutes and showed me what the little "Bubba" could do with her weight. My daughter is a fencer and has a wide knowledge of the "cutting" arts.I am most Pleased.Ok, let's get my one"Pisser" off the counter. Why not say where the thing is from if it is from somewhere other than the US. Be honest. your buyer loyality will increase I think.Yeah, the ARK-N-SAW " does ot look like it is a show Knife, but when you put the cards on the table it really is. If you've worked a forge and make wageon wheels you'll understand

My first true bowie
I collect fixed blade and folding knives, machetes, throwing axes, tomahawks, and whatever else I feel looks useful and or interesting. With that being said Just received this knife this past sunday and it seems pretty solid and sturdy. Was sharp enough out of the box but touched up the blade. The handle is huge but looks good. I am satisfied with my purchase. Update 8/12/14, I decided to bastard file the hell out of the handle, and it really made a difference. I also filed up and sharpened the top mock edge, yeah my vocab sucks when drinking. Anywho will cut really well and the back swing will F up anyone or anything's day. Still satisfied and happy with the mods I did.

ARKANSAS FILE BOWIE
Was blown away when i took this one out the box! Great looking handle and brass shined up like a piece of glass! Wish i would have ordered more of this one! Handle is very good looking with red, blue, green, and brown colors! Sharp looking handle! The blade looks like it was made from a file! That is not laser etched file marks but made into the blade! Very cool looking and a heavy blade! Handle is very thick and the knife looks and feels very tough! sheath was'nt bad! This blade reminds me of the western 49 bowie and is the "classic design" of what a bowie should be. Knife was a little slow getting to me but Amazons customer srevice was on it quick! thanks Amazon! Buy this knife people! I will be getting few more of these!

Good heavy camp knife
Haven't had a chance to go seriously chop with this beast yet, but, I used a ferro rod and sparked fine once I got the right angle. I think even though it says stainless steel on the box I'm thinking there's a good chunk of carbon in this blade. Came arm shaving sharp out of the box and feels well balanced. The weight is in all the right places that's for sure. The design is reminicent of the Marine Raider bowie from WWII. The handle is smooth and the pins are flush. Don't care for the multi-color thing, but, I'm planning on wrapping the grip with grip tape anyway. One advantage of the fake file textureing is that if you need to choke up on the blade for fine work, that texture makes for a good grip. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is the sheath. Not an awful sheath, but, not great either. Single stitched and no rivets. That having been said, It is much better than some of the other inexpensive knife sheaths I've seen. (or more expensive, I've seen $80 knives with unriveted sheaths too, so it's not that unusual)All in all it can't be beat for the price. It's an inch shorter and a good bit lighter than the Timber Rattler Outlaw Bowie, and the fit and finish are /much/ better. An outstanding value in my opinion.

Sawmill Cutlery 9 Ark-N-Saw Bowie Fixed Blade Knife
pakistan at its best! full tang and 1/4 inch thick blade with a beautiful file pattern and nice wood handle .the leather sheath is ok with strong rivets .this bowie knife was hand forged in pakistan they use old time blacksmith techniques. many people will not give a pakistan knife a fare review just because of where its from.this knife is so under priced and well made it will last a life time. I have been collecting knife's for 30 years and this reminds me of my first pakistan bowie knife that i Purchased at a flea market and i beat the crap out of that knife..yes i still have that old knife.

Verdammt schweres Texas Bowie Messer (Full Tang)
