Pictures are what they look like now after an exact year of use by three elementary aged kids and some abusive cleaning practices. I’ve washed them with dish soap and water and hosed them off when there are big spills.My child knocked one over immediately and popped the top out of the back of the chair. We used wood glue to put them back and then secured it with a tiny finish nail.Even though they look slightly rough now, given being used by kids and all the spills, they look pretty great.They are really comfortable.

These chairs were beyond what I expected. The finishes is impeccable! The quality is great and they look hig-end! The wood is not heavy since its beach wood. I had the beige one first and changed them because the color wasn't matching my countertop. I put some cushions to protect because you di t want to mess up the cords too soon. One of my best furniture purchasing!

Such a gorgeous stool. I thought it would be damaged in transit, but it arrived in perfect condition. It’s so comfortable and looks beautiful against my white and grey kitchen counter. This is absolutely form working with function. I’m so glad I got this chair for a reasonable price.

We purchased these chairs to use at our kitchen island. I just love the design I have seen these chairs on a lot of different design sites so glad I bought them even though they were much more than I expected to pay. No regrets.

Originally, i wanted the warmer beechwood but it wasn’t available, and the Rubberwood was. For the rubberwood counter stool, the height from ground to top of the seat is 25” and the height from floor to counter top of our island is 36” (3’) and there is plenty of leg room. One of the rubberwoods came with a broken backrest and i can’t replace it due to no longer available.UPDATE - Beech wood - seat height 28” - arms won’t fit under a 3’ counter height if that bothers you. Looks like birch and rubber wood are going to be 25” seat heights and the rest offered at 28” for counter stools from this brand. I like the color of the beechwood best, and the height of the Rubberwood. If the Rubberwood was still available to buy (currently sold out), i would do (3) Rubberwoods based off height of the stools alone. Hopefully they will start making all their counter stools the standard 24-25” seat height.

I read another review that almost had me NOT order in fear the “counter height” would be bar stool height. I’m glad I didn’t listen. The counter height from floor to seat is 24 inch or 2 ft. Also I got the rubberwood color which I will say is not as orange as I was hoping. It is kind of hard to tell from pictures the difference in the natural wood colors. I’m still very happy with the chairs. Also it was a nice bonus to find out they come fully assembled! Price wise- watch the item it goes up and down. I’m happy I snagged mine for half the regular price of typical barstools!

We ordered three of these counter height stools based on reviews, but couldn't have been more disappointed. Although they look great, the overall quality just isn't there. First, one of the stools arrived broken on a section of the frame that couldn't have been damaged due to shipping. The frame was broken all the way through. On all of the frames, the finish is uneven, with some areas looking raw and unfinished. We have a lot of experience with woven cord seats, and we're not convinced that the material they use will withstand daily use for very long. And having a seat rewoven is expensive. One other note - not a negative but something that customers need to know: the seats are extra deep and to sit with the support of the back against you, you're going to be a long way from the counter. We're returning all three and won't buy from the Stone and Beam brand again.

I was happy with the look of the chair when I unboxed it and there is no assembly so I could immediately sit in it and see it in my space. The wood (I bought birch) is a pretty, neutral blonde wood and the seat looks sturdy. I noticed the finger joints on the seat back were uneven and rough so when you grab the stool to move it you feel those sharp joints, I would have sanded them down if I kept the chair, although then I would have had to reapply the varnish.. for the price that seems a ridiculous amount of effort. The reason I ultimately returned the chair was the seat was too deep for me to comfortably rest my back on the backrest and still be close enough to the counter to rest my hands, even with a lumbar pillow the proportions weren’t right for me. I am 5’8 for reference.

I love these counterstools - they are comfortable and they look amazing. I bought 4 for our kitchen counter and we are using them all the time. They are sturdy and well made. They are a really comfortable size for kids and adults of all sizes.

We love these stools, but upon wiping one of the seats to soak up a spill of ginger ale, the seat totally changed colour. Now we’re terrified to use them! We used water and mild dish soap, so beware of you spill or get these dirty

I must have looked at a hundred counter stool options in stores and online. I first saw this Hans Wegner wishbone stool on another website for more than double the price. I was excited to find them for such a reasonable price on Amazon, but be aware the quality is probably not as high. Of the four stools we ordered, one came with a cleanly broken arm (see photo). I put in an online request for an exchange, and the new chair arrived in just a few days. (Still have to mail back the original.). The replacement, however has a loose joint where the arm fits into the back rail. I think I can fix this with glue, so I won’t go to the trouble of returning it. So far, I’m satisfied with the quality given the price.
