Worth It At The Higher Price
There are alot of crusty, 40 year old Segal locks in Queens in old apartment buildings I own one. .I tried to replace my cylinder with a generic chinese knockoff. The quality was bad, and when I tried to snap the metal staff (needed to adjust to your door thickness) it merely bent. This was an $8 cylinder.This too is made in China, but seems to be licensed by the original Segal. No installation issues (metal snapped immediately, as it should). The cylinder price is double, but how many times do you expect to do this? If you spend the $16, you'll only have to once.

Perfect replacement cylinder for my Segal pry proof lock which is 41 years old. I bought this because the original cylinder finally gave out. Exactly as advertised. Perfect fit!
