I put these in a outside Winter evergreen pot on a open but covered porch. They are smaller than the ones we have in our Marshes but these are so beautiful in the arrangement. They are plenty long enough for my design.I had them in the pot for three months and they are still perfect. With careful storage, I can use them next year too.

Color and length of these cattails is extremely uniform--they look manufactured rather than natural. All of mine were a medium brown which is fine, except that the description states there will be different colors and lengths. The widest cattail is about 1/2" wide; all seem extremely skinny & uniformly so. I can use them; so, I will keep them. Unfortunately, having gathered cattails from the roadside in past years, the ones I already had were 1-1.5" in diameter. I was expecting the same. There is no extra dried material w/the cattails as shown in some of the pictures--only 40 skinny cattails.
