The Essential Bar Book for Home Mixologists: Tools, Techniques, and Spirits to Master Cocktails

Great book. Wanted something more professional but it’s good.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my sister in law who wanted to learn more about mixology, as well as pairing this with some cocktail mixers and tools this was the perfect gift! I was actually surprised at the size of the book as it is rather small but when I read through it myself I really enjoyed the recipes & writing style! As soon as she got back from all of the holiday travel she tried out a recipe and really enjoyed it! I think it is a great book & gift for the starting mixologist!

I purchased two of these books to give out as gifts for the holidays. I paired the book with a cocktail of choice along with the ingredients for them to make one of the recipes in the book. The book has clear, colorful and attractive, looking pictures, which makes it easier to follow . This book is the perfect size to leave out on a bar cart or as a display on a bar . The book included cocktails as well as mocktails, which is nice for those who do not drink alcohol, a cute little girls gift or a gift to create a basket around. Worth the price .

Have used this so much. Love the instructions and how it gives you options. Perfect for a first time mixologist.

Great reference book for making evening with friends more entertaining. Recipes and directions are well written and accurate for great taste.

Gave to my son in law. He loves learning to mix new drinks. This book is perfect for that.

If you're looking for a beginner's guide to start your home bar journey, this is a great book! It explains all the necessary equipment, techniques and ingredients. Then it provides a nice selection of both classic and contemporary cocktails broken down by base liquor. One of the things I appreciated, is it offered suggestions for ingredients to buy if you prefer a a specific spirit and also recommends brands based on price. I also like that each cocktail has a short blurb about it's history and origins.

Easy to "use". You can look up many bar drinks and also some you may not know.

Handy little book.

A lot of fancy drinks are mentioned but not too many ordinary cocktails!

The illustrations and contents of the book is lovely. The history and origin of the cocktails are a cool, as it doesn’t feel like a recipe book, but a light read instead. The extra tips on how to host a cocktail party and how to prepare for one makes hosting a party so easy without need to stand behind the bar the entire time. However, the quality of the binding is so poor, I received the book with many loose pages that weren’t even glued into the book. So if you are gifting this to someone like I did, look out for that.

Decided I like this book. Has all the additional information about home bar and cocktail entertaining. Covers all favourites.
