Viking Cup Drinking Horn Tankard - Authentic Medieval Inspired Mug

This thing is totally rad. It's totally authentic. In the sense that when I washed it, afterwards it smelled like cow. I don't know what people are complaining about it is from a cow. It smells a bit, but it's really not that bad. Maybe I got lucky. It is beautiful and almost looks exactly like the sale picture.There are a few flaws at the bending of the handle but I can live with it. My ancestors would be pleased. It's not great for regular use but every once in a while it would be good if you were feeling a bit eccentric. It would be great for display too. I really like the thing.

Been looking for one of these for awhile now, then I found this product. Purchased it, received it, use the holy heck out of it. I take it with me to BBQ's, Highland games, fantasy football drafts, everywhere. The horn is comfortable to hold, looks great, feels great int he hand, and is very, very easy to drink from. I would have to recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a horn mug. It is not dishwasher safe, so keep that in mind when deciding if this is right for you.

I finally received my viking drinking horn and I must say, very impressive! I don't write many reviews at all, but this one is worth it. It's a beautiful horn, very well polished, and the handle feels very sturdy as well, I don't forsee any issues there. The bottom is sealed nicely and sits flat, lending the cup stability. I filled it almost to the top and gave it a few shoves, kicked the table, jumped up and down, and had no tipping issues whatsoever. The horn itself appears very unique and has a depth to the color that is visually appealing. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality horn that is both unique and intriguing, whether it's intended for use or just for looks. No worries here!!!

Really cool idea...really cool look...the handle is awesome...At a time when people are paying a lot of attention to the ingestion of plastics/chemicals, it was disappointing to get 2 separate vessels with an "odor" problem relating to the glue on the bottom of the tankard.The company was awesome...they issued a replacement...and ultimately a refund.Absolutely gorgeous tankards...they just need to figure out a low-odor, food-safe adhesive if they're going to cut the horns and offer this type of "stand-alone" model.

I ordered the horn tankard for my boyfriend's 21st birthday coming up as we are avid GOT fans! I was a little hesitant because some of the reviews mentioned that the mug smelled like manure or strongly of the lacquer they used to coat it, but I figured if nothing else, it would at least be a cool piece that he could keep on his desk or something. I hesitantly opened it, but there was no overwhelming smell! There was a very slight smell due to the coating, but nothing extreme and nothing that would prevent him from being able to drink out of it. The horn is mostly black (which was great news for me because that's my boyfriends favorite color) and it had some silver highlighting up one side. The inside definitely needed a wash before he could use it, but that's stated in the care instructions anyways. The curve of the handle is kind of rough, but it's a real horn and had to be bent so I fully expected that. I wasn't so concerned with the tiny details like that, I think it just adds to the mug. If you are looking for something in pristine condition with no flaws, then you probably won't be happy with this. But I love it and I know my boyfriend will love it! I haven't put any liquid in it, so I'm not sure how it holds up in that aspect yet, but aside from that I think this was a great buy and I'll definitely be getting another for my cousin's birthday in a couple of months!

I have had this cup for 2 months. It was a father's day present for my husband who is gone for work alot. He didn't get home until the first week of July to open his present. Since then it is already chipping and cracking from only being used a handful of times. It has never been in the dishwasher. I feel like such an expensive mug should not be ruined so easily.

Fit and finish are nice, but... Every example in the advertisement on Amazon showed beautiful colors and grain of the horn. The one that was shipped to me is entirely black, minus a small patch on the handle. Without looking closely at mine, it might as well be black plastic.

Ladies, if you want to have a mans man get him this drinking horn. A beard will instantly start growing on his face. And if he already has a beard you picked a good one. Once he drinks out of this cup you will notice a difference in your man. He will be stronger, faster, happier, better looking and you will want to have sex with him all the time. Don't be surprised if he starts chopping wood, making log cabins, always touching that gorgeous beard he has or carring around an axe because that's what this drinking horn will do to a man. And a added bonus your babies will come out gorgeous. If this is the life you want buy this horn!

My drinking horn arrived in excellent condition with no noticeable smell at all! I was worried because of the other reviews, but for me this was not an issue. The sealant is also applied evenly and the cup looks amazing, I already got one for my brother and I'm thinking of ordering a couple more myself so that I'll have more of a set. I definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a cool mug/cup/glass... Also like that it holds about 2 cans/bottles of beer at a time. I didn't get anything for this review, I just wanted to share my experience as some other reviews I read made me rather nervous when ordering, but I can say that my expectations were exceeded and I'm glad I bought one!

Yes there is a smell at first, but it goes away over time and use. Think of it like a cast iron pan, take special care of it. Mine fits up to 40 oz, or 2 pints. Some imperfections here and there, but a perfect job all around.

My husband loved this as his st patties gift. There's one small sharp area at the end on the handle but, other than that it's amazing.

Received horn as a present for my husband's birthday. He was so pleased! It was just what it said and arrived quickly after ordering. However after drinking from the horn for an hour (and with one of the recommended beverages) one side became very soft and started to leak. I wrote the retailer and said how pleased we were but disappointed and how I would love a replacement horn and would be happy to ship back the damaged mug. The retailer instead told me that I should buy sealant and re-seal seal it at home. That's disappointing. Not only do I not have the knowledge, or equipment to seal a horn, I don't think that an hour after using new product I should have to fix it.
