Seems well built
SZ492 fit my 37” Mud tires pretty well I think. They also seem to be of good quality. Hopefully won’t ever have to use them, but at least I have something decent that’s super easy to install when we hit the mountains. Also purchased an extra two pack of the elastic tensioners as some reviews mention that they can break.

More for insurance than anything else.
I'm planning on taking my motorhome south this winter, and wanted to be prepared going over the mountain passes, so that meant buying chains. These fit the outside 245/75-22.5 dual on my F53-based Bounder, and there was plenty of clearance.Putting them on the dual was a bit more difficult than putting them on a single tire, but not terribly so.They can be installed without having to move the vehicle. As to performance, I haven't tried them yet (and hope not to!) but they look like they'll work well.

Rubber tightener broke while installing the snow cables
These snow cables are easy to install, and although I have no experience driving in the snow with them, they look like they can do the job. The problem is that the rubber tightener (tensioner) was too small and not stretchy enough to do its job and the first one just snapped during installation (see photo). The break is very clean, so I suspect the rubber is not up to par. I ended up using some of my quality rubber bungee cords to tension the cables and I'm sure they will do well. The second provided rubber tensioner is in the bag as a backup, although I would not want to try using it if it might break after I started driving. Since I had the bungee cords and the snow cables look great otherwise, I chose to not return them.

Finally a set that fits as noted for my rig.
I just received these from Amazon, and for once, it just fits! Just prior to last winter I started shopping for chains for my modified Xterra. With a lift, I was not worried about body contact from the chains, I also have larger than factory tires (stock- 265/65-r16, to 285/75-R16) @ 3" larger diameter. The first chains I tried were superZ HD ZT835 from amazon. After dinking around under the truck I pulled the spare and tried, NO GO, not even close, like 2-3" from even connecting the outer band. Amazon return is always awesome, so I thought I would try local. Les Schawab had Laclede tire chains. Drove in and they came out and said... get real chains, try these (3228CAM) CAM lock ladder chains. Took them home, screwed around again for an hour and drove back. They came out and said, let us try. 4 techs were screwing around with the truck and said... they should fit. What I found was the duratrac's have an aggressive side wall as well as tire surface which prevented common sizes from fitting. They were busy and said we might be able to help you in 5 hours. I said I would try a differnt branch, drove to another branch that is never busy and they were able to help, found the 3227CAM chains fit. But these weight in a 48lbs for the pair.... Figured I would try SCC again for the fronts, as well as a keep in the truck all the time for everyday rears as needed. Did some searching and found that the SZ462 super Z8 chain should fit. 2 days later they are here and the fit! I just mounted on the front since there is more access due to my plate bumper but the rears can fit the monster chain links just fine, so these little cable chains will fit for sure. So now I have HD rears, cable fronts, or everyday cable rears that only weigh 6lbs compared to the 48lbs for the HD rears. I think the rig is ready for snow.... now for it to start falling, hopefully soon.Photos attached to show the difference and fitment. Defiantly worth the buy if you need them.

Can't imagine plowing our icy hill without them
I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on different chain sets and cleats. All have been useful, but only the Super Z8's have had the magic combination of: a) Good grip on snow, bare ice, and also mud, b) Can be installed without moving the truck, even if you're already stuck, c) do not require re-tensioning after driving a few hundred yards, d) compact storage bags, and e) relatively easy to put on.With these on the truck, I'm fearless. Now I can plow over the side of a steep bank to push the snow out of the way for the next storm, and then just back right up. It's crazy. Though it's still possible to get stuck, though. For example, if you drive up onto a soft snow bank and then sink in up to the truck bed (tried that two weeks ago -- oops).Caveats are that if you're already stuck, you have to completely dig out any tire that you want to install them on, which stands to reason, and "easy to put on" is a relative term. You have to get the right size for the tire, which SCC will help with if you call them or download their chart, and you'll have to snug them into place by hand before applying the tensioners, and then the tensioners themselves will take some swearing and muscle power. That said, I've never been unable to get the chains on, even on a set that was one size too small for the tires. It just required more snugging to get the chains as close to the hub as possible, and then more grip strength. The chains are still inconvenient, even if it takes only ten minutes to put them on, but that said, I can't imagine useful chains being any easier to use. If you want to drive a 6,000 pound truck over the side of a frozen bank, you're going to need chains that stay on the tires, and that requires some reasonable tension.

Great product but doesn’t work on many pick up tires
Great product for most vehicles however for pick up with larger all terrain M&S tires Cross coils get stuck in wider tread causing adjacent cross coil to become very loose which will hit vehicle even for vehicle that does not require specification “S” chains. This issue common however not advertised.

Easy install, great traction
Got tired of the struggle with V chains , they work great but new trucks don’t offer the clearance to make installing easy. These chains are sooooo quick and easy to install. Followed the sizing guide and the fit was perfect. I did have some concerns about how the chains would grip but it turned out the traction is great!!
