My little linebacker is no longer leaking at night!
Until recently (right around his second birthday, actually), my son went to sleep in regular Seventh Generation diapers, and nighttime leaks happened only about twice a week at the most. However, once it escalated to an every-night problem, we finally threw up our arms and started looking around for something that would allow us a full night's sleep. And the act of forbidding bedtime beverages didn't seem like a viable solution. As a temporary quick-fix, we picked up some Pampers Baby Dry Diapers Jumbo Pack, Size 6, 23 Count , as our local stores do not yet stock Seventh Generation Overnights. Maybe Pampers run large-- we chose the size according to his weight, but they fit very high on our son's hip, so leaks still happened. Or perhaps these diapers weren't intended for overnight protection-- if so, then the sleeping cartoon baby had me duped. Regardless, I'm not reviewing Pampers, I only want to offer a basis for comparison. These Seventh Generation diapers fit much better on my son. We have found that a snug, high-up fastening has worked best for him in general, and these diapers have allowed just the right amount of leg room. In fact, they have worked so well for our little guy that I'm astonished that there are any negative reviews. Maybe this is not a one-size-fits-all solution? All babies/toddlers are shaped a bit differently-- as I mentioned earlier, the Pampers fit WAY too high on his hip. My son is a stocky kid-- not fat, but he weighs 36 pounds at 36 inches tall, and despite being barely two, he's in 4T clothes (there is no end to unsolicited speculation about his future as a football player). He's also a thirsty guy. Ever see those commercials where they use a water balloon to demonstrate a diaper's effectiveness? That's a fairly accurate representation of his nighttime situation. Leading up to the switch, if there wasn't a leak in the morning, the diaper was always fully saturated to the point that one more "deposit" would do it.These diapers are bit enigmatic in terms of pliability. They can seem quite stiff from the outside, but remain soft and pliable on the inside. Perhaps this is a design feature to prevent front-top leaks, as it seems to keep the diaper from laying directly against genitalia and forcing it in one direction or another. At first, this stiffness led me to believe that my son had already filled his diaper, though when I changed him, I found that the opposite was true, and he had urinated maybe once, if that. Once I got used to the outer stiffness creating a tenting effect, though, I found that these diapers were just what we needed to solve our nighttime woes. It's been a week or two since we started using these diapers, and there have been no leaks so far. I couldn't be happier. In the end I can only vouch for my personal experience. My heart goes out to parents who've tried this diaper without any luck. However, if you've got yourself a leaky little linebacker, these just might be the diapers to try.

Works great!
My son is a large peeing machine! He normally would wake up right after a pee in the night, no leaks because I use seventh generation diapers and they work great for him, but his diaper would look like it was ready to fall off when I went in to change him. These over night diapers work great, he goes to bed at 8pm then wakes up at 3am for a change and a snack, That is roughly 4 times he would go potty before I needed to change him, he always goes down after I change him and nurse for a moment. For me it is great that he wakes up before he is up for the day, gives me small relief from needing to pump all the milk out in the morning and he sleeps for 1hr longer and the sun is rising. Some people complained about the straps pulling off. This is from you pulling on them too hard, I am unsure why you would need to pull them roughly but if you handle them gently like you do your baby it works great. They stick to the diaper great, not by some sort of glue but more like a felt type technology. Little bumps under the tabs stick to the diaper, so they stick great if you put the diaper on right. If you try to pull the diaper on too tightly they will snap off or just not stick. My boy is normally a size 3 in the regular diapers, they obviously do not have that size for these but size 4 works just great.

My favorite overnight diaper!!
These diapers have been a life saver for us! My only complaint is that they don’t come ina size 3 - size 4 is the smallest. I guess they don’t think littler ones sleep through the night, but they do, if they have a good diaper. We started with Honest overnights, size 3, which was the best we could find for our size 2, 3 month old. As she grew and actually became a size 3, the honest ones leaked. So we went to Honest size 4 (at only 16lbs) and those leaked. Then we tried the 7th gen, size 4 (the purple print ones) and voila, baby sleeps through the night again! I love how soft and absorbent they are, and no leaks. I don’t care for the Seventh gen daytime diapers, with the brown pulp. They seem too stiff. So we use Honest by day, and these seventh Generation ones overnight.

Only ones I use
I have tried other premium diapers when my child was born, but feel these are the best fit for us. Initially I used Earth's Best, Huggies Pure & Natural, pempers, Broody Chicken...They do not have any artificial scents, and needless coloring and not harsh chemicals. They are reliable - meaning the tabs on the sides do not break off, contained all that it's meant to contain. My child never had any diaper rush. We are satisfied with these diapers. Also whether we use the overnight diapers or the regular ones, there would be no leaks, but obviously the night diaper have more of capacity (I do make my kid go the the bathroom before bed time). We initially used Earths Best, but found it frustrating because although the diaper served its purpose the tabs would either get stuck so when you peel them the diaper would rip, or the pulls would rip off all together. 25+ cents per diaper this was a lot of waste.Broody Chicken 100% compostable diaper were very nice! but they were not part of the auto delivery and are a bit more expansive. We used them when my child was a newborn.
