I bought these for my seven year old daughter, due to the amount of chewing she does on her pencils. They aren't too bad looking, so she doesn't get teased. I would say they are relatively durable. My daughter is a very active chewer and has managed to chew through some of them, but I expected that. Her 8 month old brother also loves to chew on them, though only under supervision. I have bought these toppers several times now, as my daughter also likes to misplace items. Her teacher says they help to soothe and calm her, as well.

I bought the XXT for my ADHD children and it only took one day to separate the head from the body. But they can still chew on the body.

My sister in law's son, Nick has aspergers. I asked her if he had a habit of chewing on things while at school or working on things at home. She said that in fact he did, so I thought that these pencil toppers would be perfect for him. I was impressed when I received them. They are made of safe silicone, so I felt good about letting him use them. I kept two for myself just in case my children needed them in the future.The toppers are a very nice size and fit nice and snug on everything that I put them on. Nick really liked the black and blue colors and chess piece design. He immediately thanked me for them and placed them in his pencil. My sister in law, Ella, informed me that Nick has been using them often. He takes them to school with him and chews on them while doing his schoolwork. She said that he really seems to focus more on what he's doing without fidgeting as much. She really loves the idea of these chew therapy toppers and said that she was going to purchase another set.I've been very impressed with this product. Right off the bat the first thing i noticed was the bright vivid colors! They fit perfectly on a #2 pencil. I gave these to a friend who has a son who has ADHD. He is 7 and always chews on the pencil tops. So i offered these to her as an alternative. She says he loves them but won't use the pink because its too girly. He likes that they are in the shape of horses. He has been using them for about 3 days now and the have held up to him chewing on them. They have helped him focus and stay on task a bit better! My oldest has an issue with chewing on everything. Unfortunately his clothing is the biggest victim. When I was offered the chance to try these in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at it. I think this is a great product and is soothing to him. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that the hole on the bottom doesn't fit the tops of all his pens or pencils and he's not a fan of the shape they chose. As far as the materials go, 5 stars there. They're soft enough to chew but firm enough to stand up to teeth for a long time. He really does enjoy having them to satisfy his oral fixation and his clothing thanks him. The colors are fun and they're kid friendly. Even after only a short time he knows to ask for his pencil toppers when he gets the urge to chew and it really has saved his clothing from further destruction. I would buy again.
