I love the fact that these have volume control, so you can actually amplify sounds such as voices, but gunfire and other loud sounds are automatically cancelled out. These are slim so they don't interfere as much with aiming down sights, though on some low iron sights they still might get in the way slightly. The tradeoff is that louder firearms such as 8mm Mauser are still somewhat loud, but still better than no protection. They are very comfortable to wear out of the box.

These are worth the investment. I'll never go back to plugs!

Good design. At times need to reposition due to pressing in some parts of the ear maybe relsted to every person's ear anatomy

The Good:If they can be had for under $45 they are a good pair of electronic ear pro. The muffs work fairly well, and don't tend to break their seal easily. They are also fairly slim, which helps with rifle shooting. The batteries are in a great place for easy replacement. And speaking of batteries, they come with high quality batteries right out of the box. The sound compression is good. These ear pro do not "clip" the sound. Which means they don't simply shut off for a moment. They just remove the harmful loud sounds but allow you to continue hearing sounds at lower levels. Sounds like normal conversation. This is their best feature for the money.The Bad:The sound is far to global and makes identifying where a sound is coming from very difficult. There is also a perceived distance to the sound that is unnatural making it difficult to tell how far away the source of the sound is.Conclusion:For the right price they are good ear pro. Something like taking a shooting class indoors or outdoors should work fine as they will help you hear the instructor while protecting your hearing. But, don't expect them to do well in a hunting scenario as the almost total loss of situational awareness will make narrowing in on the source of a sound near impossible.
