Viperspeed 3" Thread Alignment Tool for M15X1RH

Although this tool has an extended shaft for use in a counter-bored barrel, I prefer it to the shorter version even in non-counter bores because the added length just helps it stay put and centered in the barrel. with many of the old surplus 7.62 guns out there, barrel erosion occurs at the muzzle and the throat of the barrel first, depending on how much erosion exists, the longer shaft will keep it aligned where as the shorter shaft may have a slight wobble if erosion from the muzzle extends to far back into the bore. though this likely wont effect the alignment of the muzzle device, I say better safe than covered in shrapnel or launching a brake down range. the tool itself is of very high quality and should provide unlimited use if used and stored properly. The shaft is machined perfectly to precisely fit the bore. I tried using a .22 patch on the end to provide a more snug fit for the tool but I was unable to fit it in the bore with a very thin small patch, so this means it was virtually a perfect fit. After threading several barrels using this tool and installing the muzzle device; the alignment has been perfect each time. there is no sense in spending $50-150 on a muzzle device for a 70+ year old rifle and ruining the barrel because you are either too lazy or too cheap to get the right tools. if you use this in conjunction with the proper die, handle, cutting oil and proper threading procedure than your results will be every bit as good and you wont have to pay a gunsmith and or ship out your rifle and have to wait weeks to months for the work to get done. if you need help and have never threaded a barrel before like myself, go to youtube and there are several videos that detail and walk you through the process. Take your time, measure twice and cut once, and pay attention to the details, the result will be an M91/30 with the recoil of an AK!

I bought this alignment tool to use along with a barrel threading die in order to install a muzzle brake on my Mosin, and it worked flawlessly. Although I needed it only for this one application, I'm sure it would last to thread a hundred rifles. It's very straight and made fitting the muzzle brake threads on a Mosin's hard steel barrel a breeze. I paired this tool up with the Mosin Nagant M15X1RH threading die, and it was a foolproof rifle modification system. Just keep slip this alignment tool into the barrel, start your die and keep it lubed and be patient with it and you won't be disappointed. Great product!
