Russian Comfrey - 1 Live Root Cutting - Bocking 4 - Comphrey - Knitbone (1)

Read mixed reviews but this product meets the description and all have started growing. Put them in the ground and left them be and they all started growing. Good product.

I received 3 little dark brown 'things', wrapped in tin foil. Two were long, one was roundish. Absolutely no instructions on how to plant. I soaked them and stuck them in dirt in a pot, watering them and keeping an eye out. Nothing ever grew. Complete waste of my money.

6/29/2020: Three root cuttings received way before the delivery time promised. I will update the progress here. Look good so far.6/29/2020: after soaking for six hours I planted the three root cuttings in three pots filled with miracle grow organic potting soil and watered till the water drained from the holes at the bottom of the pots. Placed on tiles at a bright corner that does not receive direct in light.7/16/2020: almost two weeks after planting, I still don’t see any sprouts. I didn’t dig to see if there is any root development because I don’t want to disturb it. I keep my rating for four weeks.7/24/2020: I still don’t have any green sprouts! I moved the pots from partial sun area to full sun a few days ago and places a tray under them to water from bottom. I hope I see something before the summer as it has been almost a month since I planted these. If the seller reads these reviews I would appreciate note on How long it will take for these to root and grow leaves. I read that it’s very hard to get rid of comfrey roots. I don’t have success to sprout them :).8/27/2020: my first batch of three root cuttings never grew. I contacted amazon and was refunded. I ordered another five root cuttings now to give it another chance. Looks like this seller is the only blocking 4 provider. I hope I have better luck this time.11/17/2020. I ordered a second batch of five. This time all of the root cuttings sprouted even the smallest one. The key is to not over water it I think. Once a week if the temperature is not in 90s should be ok it took more than a month for them to sprout as well so be patient. I changed my rating to five stars.

I wasn't much impressed with the tiny little sticks that I was sent! I didn't think they would sprout at all. But, hey I'm a gonna try them anyway. It took a while and 2 out of the 3 sprouted and started growing! I checked the third one and it has roots but no foliage yet. So yes, I'm pleased.

Incredibly healthy grew quickly into vibrant healthy plants in 2 weeks I was amazed and kinda cautious about putting it in the ground now. The root pieces were small and did so well how quickly it may spread... they are beautiful and still in pots. Very impressive. One of the root pieces was left longer soaking in the water and it put on leaves starting to grow right there in the cup of water so pretty and green!

These arrived quickly and well packaged. They took a while to sprout -with some being slower than others- but eventually all of them did sprout and they're growing vigorously.

Received these wrapped in foil. Very hot day (if you live in NC, you know what I'm talking about). It's been 17 days since planting and only 1 has come up. I'll update if the others sprout. If not, I will contact seller and hope for they'll send me more.Update: 7/21/24It's been over a month and only 3 in total have come up. Not real satisfied with that number since these cost so much. I will reach out to the seller and see if they can and will send me more. I'll see.

Update: seller fixed the issue promptly.Sad it didn't work out, but impressed with the service.They didn't look great when they arrived as root pieces, but I took a chance and followed the instructions. None of the pieces ended up producing a plant. Waiting to hear from seller. I'll update when I hear back.
