Elegant clock
This mantel clock has a simple but elegant design. The clock is large, but fits our mantel perfectly. The clock is very well made. It has two different chimes and you can adjust the volume of the chime, and turn it off for nighttime.

Quartz replaces wind-up clock
We purchased the wind-up version of this Howard Miller clock several years ago. We kept up with it for years, regularly winding it every Thursday. Eventually vacations, lapsing memory, and general malaise resulted in a clock that needed frequent, expensive service. This purchase, with the same case as our first one, was to maintain sanity. So far, it works perfectly. The chimes, however, are just not great. They are recorded and sound very tinny. We have not turned them off, but we did turn them way down so that they present a low level reminder of the time, but no joy in the sound, no resonance, no depth. It is a real disappointment. None-the-less, we now know the time....

Not exactly as pictured.
The finish on the case is much darker (dark cherry) than is seen in the picture. Also, the finish is not of a high quality. I am a little surprised when you consider it is a Howard Miller. Others I have seen in shops have much more beautiful cases. The clock face looks great and the clock works fine. Still, all in all a little disappointed.

Happy with Purchase
This clock is handsome and keeps good time. I like the chimes although they are electronic. I would rather not wind every week anyway.

An OK clock
The inside of the clock is empty except for a two-inch speaker and the small quartz controlled motor that has places for two C-cell batteries. The chime sounds are a digital recording of real chimes and sounds convincing despite the small speaker. All of the Howard Miller quartz mantel clocks that I have seen use the same internal components so only the case materials differ from model to model. The external finish on this Graham Bracket III clock was fairly good. The finish on a less expensive Howard Miller mantel clock I examined was pretty bad, but OK I guess if you didn't get too close to it.

Great sound, classy looks, batteries last
Adjustable volume, nice two style ringer, has night time selective auto volume drop. Uses two C batteries, opening front door, ringer quality resonates better on some wood surfaces, looks great.
