Easy, fast setup. Looks nice when assembled. Stores compactly.
I would very much recommend this sukkah kit. I've had several different DIY sukkah designs over the years. This is my first store-bought sukkah, and I'm very pleased with my selection. It gets lots of points for ease and speed of setup and how nice it looks when done. It’s sturdy when assembled and, also importantly, it stores compactly when not. Although there WERE small areas of rust (mostly around the soldered areas) after sitting outside in the elements for a couple weeks, I'm expecting to be able to enjoy this sukkah for years to come. There are a few things to note; none of these are problems with the sukkah design but simply things about which potential buyers should be aware before ordering—especially if this is your first foray into sukkah building.1. As the seller’s description clearly states and other reviews have noted for various kits from this seller, the s’chach is not included, nor are the wooden beams on which you need to rest the s'chach. I already had these things from previous Sukkot designs, so I was set. But if you don't have them, then you'll need to add those to your cart as well. If the beams are long enough to significantly hang over the frame on each end, it’ll serve you well.2. The rubber mallet provided is functional but small and wimpy. Even with a full-sized mallet, a few of the horizontal rails needed a good bit of pounding in order to get the rails in place such that the holes lined up for the securing bolts. I was glad I already had a big mallet in my toolbox.3. If you don’t already have a stepladder or other free-standing ladder, add one your cart or go get one at your local hardware store. You’ll need it for installing the top rails and the s’chach.4. Although this was the fastest sukkah installation I’ve ever done, it took a LOT more than the 10 minutes that they claim to get the frame arranged, assembled, and secured with the provided bolts and wing nuts as well as getting the wall attached. And that doesn’t include putting up the s’chach. Budget a couple of hours; if you finish early, you can relax on a chair nearby, sip a refreshing beverage, and admire the beautiful sukkah you just made.5. Although you can set up the telescoping side rails at shorter lengths, the kit comes with only one 32-foot-long (9.75m-long) wall section and a 3.3-foot-wide (1m-wide) door section. So for all practical purposes, it is not that easy to create a sukkah that's much smaller than the maximum 8x10 size-- unless you do a little engineering and/or sewing to fashion side walls out of some other material and to secure those side walls to the frame. That said, the manufacturer makes expansion kits that you can purchase separately and that include panels that are 16-foot-ish or 20-foot-ish, enabling you to make a much smaller or much larger sukkah (5x5 to 16x20… ish) by isolating or combining the different wall lengths, which zip together.6. Note the shipping weight. This frame is HEAVY. Depending on your stature and level of fitness, you may need two people or a dolly to move the unassembled kit from place to place in its storage bag. On that note, one minor disappointment that I have with the kit is that the “Sukkah Carry Bag” doesn’t seem to be the made of the best quality material and does not have a reinforced end for standing it on end, as is pictured. I don’t expect the bag to last and am already wondering how I’m going to store my kit when (not if) the carry bag rips.7. The actual outside dimensions of the finished sukkah are 7’10.6” x 9’10.2” (2.4m x 3.0m) when fully extended, which is slightly smaller than the advertised 8ft x 10ft, but reasonably close as an estimated metric-to-US conversion. The inside dimensions of the sukkah are 7’8.4” x 9’7.9” (2.34m x 2.94m), which is about 2-1/4 inches (6cm) less than the outside dimensions, as each pole is 1-1/8 inches (3cm) square.8. And finally, if anyone needs to fit a sukkah into a particular balcony or patio area—or has a particular piece of furniture to fit inside the sukkah—then it would be useful to have more precise information on the possible telescoping lengths. If that’s you, here you go. But keep in mind, if you are not extending all horizontal rails AND vertical poles to their MAXIMUM lengths, then the provided wall fabric will be too long and/or too tall, and you’ll have to improvise on the walls. With that caveat… The sukkah height can be set at 6’11.1” or 7’7.7” (2.11m or 2.33m). The shorter horizontal “end” rails clip into place at four lengths: 4’8.8”, 5’8.6”, 6’8.5” 7’8.4” (1.44m, 1.74m, 2.04m, and 2.35m). The longer horizontal “side” rails clip into place at five lengths: 5’8.5”, 6’8.4”, 7’8.3”, 8’8.1”, and 9’7.9” (1.74m, 2.04m, 2.34m, 2.64m, and 2.95m). These comprise the possible inside dimensions of your finished sukkah. Each corner pole is 1-1/8 inches (3cm) square, so you’ll need to add 2-1/4 inches (6cm) to the rail lengths to get the outside dimensions of the sukkah overall. Note that, fully collapsed, the horizontal rails are 4’1.6” and 5’1.3” long (1.26m and 1.56m), respectively for the shorter and longer rails, but they do not clip into place securely at this length as there is no hole for the spring-loaded pin. (It looks like you could drill a hole there with the right drill bit, but I didn’t try it.)If the manufacturer reads this review, I have two suggestions:(1) Add a drilled hole so that each pole can be secured at the smallest length, fully collapsed without any telescoping (e.g., 1.26m and 1.56m).(2) Add more vertical zippers to the wall panels, dividing the 9.75m panel into panels of 2.5m, 3.25m, and 4m in addition to the 1m door. There are two benefits: first, it would be possible to launder the panels in a residential washing machine, AND second, it would provide customers with MANY more options for sukkah dimensions by mixing and matching various wall panel lengths in various three- and four-walled configurations.

Very Disappointed
I had high hopes for this sukkah but was very disappointed. First of all it was missing one out of the eleven horizontal pieces. Since at this point I had no other options I put it together anyway and hoped it would be sturdy enough. And speaking of putting together, the directions were basically nonexistent. It came with a ripped crumpled up piece of paper with the parts listed but that’s it. Somehow I managed to do the best I could and put it together only to find that the expensive schach that I purchased (based on the sizes they recommended) doesn’t quite fit and it also didn’t come with any wood slats to place them on anyway (even though in the video it does). I emailed the company website 2 days ago but haven’t heard back. So basically I just moved into my home and now it’s a few hours until the holiday starts and unfortunately my sukkah cannot be used. I’ve never written a bad review before but I am truly disappointed and upset. :-(
