WORKS WELL, EASY INSTALL.
This product is great for eliminating banging pipes. I had pipes in the wall that I could not get to without breaking walls. Every time the tub shower was running and you would turn on another fawcet the pipes would ring. It drove me crazy. I installed these right behind the tub, where I had easy access. The problem disappeared immediately. Great product. Shark Bites make installation easy. Get em. They work.

1/2 PEX line. Water well supplied home
Works as advertised!I installed a sprinkler system this summer. Even though it have an expensive vacuum break / check valve going from the main line to the sprinkler system I had a water hammer. Every time the sprinkler valves would shift from one zone to another I could hear it in my attic hammering. At first I thought I had squirrels or some animals in my attic. Even bought some traps. With the sounds still happening I was in my attic when I heard the water line clearly. Bought This little gem, installed it in less than 2 minutes. Turned the well back on. Fired up the sprinklers while I sat in my attic shuffling threw the zones ( I can control it with my phone). No more hammering. This little thing is great !!! Good buy for anyone with these issues.

didn't work as much as hoped
my plumber installed this when the hot water tank was replaced and the water hammer was reduced, but not as much as hoped, the fittings were soldered together

Worked perfectly for banging sprinkler supply
My 1" sprinkler supply line would bang so hard the entire house could hear it every single time any sprinkler zone turned on. Finally, I got fed up and bought the most expensive plumbing fitting ever. I tried to install and I MESSED UP, NOT THE PART. If your installation is leaking, it will likely be a DRAMATIC LEAK because 1" pipe carries a lot of water. This is entirely avoidable if you just do it right the first time. Luckily, sharkbite allows you to disconnect and reconnect fittings. My first attempt involved trying to install the fitting by cutting out a small section of 1" pipe, this will not work. You must cut a larger section of pipe out and use a 1" slip fit coupling otherwise you will not be able to properly seat both ends of the pipe inside the water hammer arrestor. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS INSTALL WITHOUT ALSO PURCHASING A 1" SLIP-FIT COUPLING. If your 1" supply is running parallel between two joists (or close to it), you will need to drill a 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" hole in the side of one of your joists so that you can fit the water hammer arrestor. Finally, the good news: This part worked PERFECTLY. I now cannot hear when my sprinkler system turns on a zone unless I am directly underneath the sprinkler supply line. Dramatic improvement, very pleased! Absolutely worth the cost for this water hammer arrestor.

Didn't fix my problem.
Bought this to stop the knocking I experience every time we use the water on our fridge. Hooked it up under the sink where the fridge ties into the water line. Knocking still present.

Stop the hammer...
Stop the hammer on my irrigation system. Constant pipe bangs every day the irrigation system would shut off. This reduced the hammer. Easily installed without soldering.

Requires Additional Hardware (Cash Acme pressure reducing valve) to Even Use The Arrestor
The instruction says "In a system with pressure exceeding 60.0 psi (4137kPa) it is required that a Cash Acme pressure reducing valve shall be installed upstream of the unit. There is no mention about this requirement in the product description. The water pressure in my house is ~72 psi which is considered as normal. I took the arrestor to a local plumbing supply store and ask them what is a "Cash Acme" pressure reducing valve, no one seems to know the answer, they all think it is just a water pressure regulator, but, cannot confirm. Basically, in order to install the arrestor, I have to install a water pressure regulator upstream. It is extremely inconvenient, some other brands do not have this requirement.

No Magic just garbage
Installed to stop water hammer from a toilet water tank. This is quiet tall one and should have a higher air cushion to stop the hammering. Unfortunately did absolutely nothing and just a waste of money. Instructions says to install closer to the hammer source unbelivable garbage probably need to install right at the hammer source which is impossible in many application. Does not deliver performance compared to its size. Just do not waste your money absolute garbage.

Works Great - suppresses pipe bang on small water systems with a caveat!
This works great when there is a long water line that allows for better absorption. In our case, it's a small water pump on a line about 6 feet long that goes to the fridge (from a 5 gallon water bottle). I reduces the hammering on the line but not perfectly. in a different installation I did that included a couple of water taps, it completely removed the hammering - because there was more line and more water volume.Highly recommended.
