Oyster shell is great for laying hens laying soft shells.Only issue is the bag rips easily, but thats OK.

Usually chickens shell supplements are flakes or flour. These are small pebbles.

This is not oyster shell; it may have some oyster shell in it, but it is not oyster shell. See picture for a representative handful and note that on the bag it says, “Oyster Shell and Calcium, Clam-Coquina Like Shell”. If your chickens like this kind of calcium supplement, you can get this same kind of stuff at places like Tractor Supply for $12.50 for a 50# bag; this is way way overpriced and since my girls only like actual oyster shell I am very very disappointed. Do not buy.
