A little bit crap, that's why they should cost 3x this price. Leccy detection unsafe!
I mainly wanted this for finding studs as we now have several studded and plastered walls which I want to screw things to. It actually finds these reasonably well, see photos. However, it should probably just stop there and not pretend or offer to do much else. The most worrying thing is the electricity detection. It says there is no electricity under my light switch which definitely has power coming up to it from under the floor, though it does have protective metal trunking. When asked to detect metal there, it does say, as an aside, that there's electricity. When on electricity mode, it finds it, obviously incorrectly in my open cupboard and kitchen doors. It also thinks there's electricity in a copper pipe which I stood behind a piece of plater board as a test. The good thing about recent works is I have lots of test materials! The last pictures do show it correctly detecting the approximate location of a cable under another light switch which is old and likely doesn't have metal trunking covering it.Ultimately, because it says there is electricity all over the place, you'll come to disregard this function and then you'll drill in to a live cable.I'll persevere a little and then decide whether to return it. I'm pretty certain this is as good as this device will ever be so there's little point in getting a replacement.Photos in order I posted them:1: Correct stud location2: Correct stud edge location3: INCORRECT Electricity in open door4: INCORRECT Electricity in open cupboard door5: INCORRECT Electricity in middle of nowhere with cable inches to the side of it6: INCORRECT Electricity in hollow copper pipe which I just placed there7: Correct identification of electricity under a light switch, but it does say this when moved at least an inch either way too (Pic 8). Maybe this is better to be safe than sorry?

Works well on my new build stud wall but gives really odd results on my other walls
Works great on my new stud walls. I built them so know where everything is and it gets it right every time. On my breeze block walls, it identifies random objects even when I know nothing is there. Useful for my purpose but not as good as I would have liked

It Kinda Worked...
It wasn't 100% exact, but it gave me the general idea of where studs were, and once I found a couple for sure... I was able to calculate with measurements and confirm with this. The edge detection just seemed a little off.... used strong mini magnets to ensure exact location. It also frequently indicated electrical cable inside the wall where there was none.Pretty expensive considering it's hit and miss quality, you'll probably get similar results from even cheaper generic made up name brands... I wish I'd spent a bit more, and gone with Bosch or something

Don’t be put off by the budget price!
I have to admit to being a bit sceptical about this stud finder because of the low price, but I was impressed by its performance.I recently had a room replastered and wanted to put some shelves up on a wall that I knew to be studded. So rather than try to find some plasterboard fixings I decided to try to find the wall studs so I could secure the shelves better. The stud detector arrived the next day, the package included a 9 volt battery and clear instructions, not that you really need them because it’s simple enough to use. As soon as you turn it on it calibrates itself automatically (you can also use the side button) and you can use the mode button to switch between modes. I used the 1” depth and it found my studs without difficulty. I particularly like the way it directs you to the centre of the stud. All in all it’s well worth the money and I’d be happy to recommend to anyone who was thinking of buying one.
