Unreadable
I couldn't even make it through the much-too-long prologue. The prose is meandering, non-sensical twaddle. So I skipped ahead, hoping to find any sort of engaging, coherent story content. Nope.I shouldn't have to try so hard to enjoy something I'm reading for entertainment. A good novel should grab my attention and make me want to not put it down until the last page. This book doesn't do that. The author has a devoted fan-following that give high marks regardless of the quality of work he publishes. So there will be a ton of positive reviews to contradict this one. Don't be fooled, read the sample, resist the peer pressure and make your own judgement.

Second Dud Book By Kong In A Year
This is the 2nd book in a row, written by Mr. Kong that has disappointed me. It's really unfortunate. I really like the "The land" series a lot. I had hoped this would add some more depth and dimension to his first series.I think the concept for "God's Eye" is fantastic. But the actual follow through is rough. It's almost as if Mr. Kong has had this book sitting in a desk drawer gathering dust for the past 5 years; took it out, dusted it off and decides to publish it. Then markets it as having taken him 5 years to write.Outside of introspection in the MCs head, including the AI (Gods Eye) he gets later in the book there is almost zero dialog. That is essentially the entire book. There is little to no character development. Many of the scenes in "Gods Eye" are very similar to scenes in different books in the "The Land" series. The writing style and technique are far less polished than what you see in "The Land". Leads me to believe that God's Eye came first and then Mr. Kong decided to start over with "The Land" It is really easy to see parallels between the scenes in God's Eye and Scenes from several different books of "The Land" series. I really think "God's Eye" is really "The Land" v0.5.The battle scenes are outrageously long. The last battle alone was 80 plus pages long. It was a raid, that's it. 80 pages for a stupid raid. Not some epic battle, a raid. Give me a break. It's like the battle was turned into filler. What is it with all the recent feces and urine scenes. There's the chapter in Book 8 and then there are four scenes in this book. They are really stupid juvenile scenes. I almost wonder if Mr. Kong in digressing in maturity. He needs to ditch whoever is doing his beta reading, they really aren't giving him honest feedback.Ultimately, the only good thing about this book is we do learn more about "Chaos" and what makes up the labrynth. But, overall "God's Eye" is a dud. It really is a shame.

An amazing start to a new series!
Another truly amazing book by Aleron Kong. Gods eye is a great addition to Alerons burgeoning litrpg universe and already it looks like his plans extend far into the future and while this book does contain a bit of dark or gruesome moments it's also filled with humor, adventure, and excellent characters. I look forward to reading more in this series as the years pass. Gnomes Rule!

Awesome new series from Aleron Kong
Another great read from Aleron Kong! A new world, a new system, a new protagonist. This new series has enough calls to The Land that you can feel the connection, especially between Remy and Richter.Definitely darker than The Land, but its not a gruesome story, and there are light hearted elements too.You don't need to read The Land to enjoy this series, but it makes some of the earlier scenes deeper.Check it out and Razin Rule!!!

highly recommended
This is an outstanding first entry in a new series by Aleron Kong. God's Eye is a very satisfying read for anyone who has played and loved MMORPG's or 4X games (Civ, Masters of Orion, ...) and it is an excellent blend of the two. I look forward to the next installments in the series, seeing where Aleron takes his characters, the interaction between the main character, the razin, the worlds of the Lattice. A great read. Highly recommended.

A good start.
I have seen some reviews that say this is better then Alerons other series, The Land: Chaos seeds. I'd like to say that is not true.It is really good and has the potential to be as good. One of the issues this book has is that it is living in the shadow of a now seasoned author. Where as some of the mistakes made by Aleron on his first series can be forgiven because it was a first attempt by a self published novice, this book does not get the same pass.I expected more dialog and less internal monolog. When Aleron writes dialog for his characters its really fun, this book had little of it however. Without too much in the way of spoilers a brand new god may want to you know talk to his people and they to him.At this point in the story all but two of his people are nothing more then a rts resource, maybe that's the intention but it seems like as this is a story we should have quite a bit more. Heck even in star craft the drons and STVs all make sounds and comments when given tasks. The other main issue with the story is that it has its own system that is different from his other series system. Not so different that its totally new, but just different enough that you are constantly having to think about it. If you are familiar with his other series it feels like it takes away from the immersion just a bit. I have to ask myself, did a side novel in the same universe actually need all the new systems? Why not save the readers and author work on this and add more much needed character development? The short of this is Its a good book and if you are a Fan of Aleron you will like it. I liked it but it does not mean he shouldent grow as a author and expand his style.

Great read!
This was an absolute rush. Maybe even better than The Land. I read it in one sitting. Could not put it down.

The best new series of the year
I truly love this one. Can't wait to get the next one. Just as good as the land, and yet it so different from most litrpgs

The land is awesome! Gods Eye is F*#$ing Epic
I’ve got to say when I first heard another book in the land universe was being published I was a little peeved at the thought of waiting longer for book 9I couldn’t have been more wrong...The land is one of my absolute favourites of all time...But if the land is like a steak dinner with sum CAYENNE PEPPER...Then gods eyes is looking up to find the waiter in a knife fight with GandalfThis is an essential read for any fantasy/lit RPG fanWell done Aleron 👏👏👏

Same stuff not worth( very minor spoiler read at own risk)
The author has a habit with his writing where he main character will make progress develop and gain strength and yet something always happens near the end of a book that reverses loads of his progress..... hes has done it again in this book half the book was about explaining the Mechanics of stats and stuff which normally makes sense but by now people readying this type of story should know how they work. The rest of story had some progress which was good but then you get to the last chapters and half his progress is gone. I can see it was done to add to the story but to me it was a waste of time and you learn about the characters in the first book by to me there so little characters left and the ones that are we no nothing about. So in conclusion the author to me has not really grown as a writer many story telling tools were basically the same from his previous series I can honestly say i will not be getting the next book

Great book, but not as good as the Land
I enjoyed the book very much. To start with it is very black but it gets more fun as it goes on. Lots of action, strong mechanics, and an interesting plot.I do prefer the Land series as it is (mostly) lighter with more banter but I would definitely buy more books in this series.

Great Book - I didn't want it to end
Aleron did it again. A good story to follow and LitRPG together. The quality of the writing is great, the story just flows and I always wanted to read just a few pages more.Compared to 'the land' it is darker, the MC has got psychopathic traits in his ability to compartmentalise and carry on regardless. Still as a reader I could not not admire these traits. As a non american I would have wished for a glossary sheet of the acronyms as it is challenging to google 3-letter-abbreviations. Hower that did not detract from the great story.

Must buy
A great read from start to finish, I loved how it expanded on similarities with The Land but was ultimately able to bring new mechanics into the mix. The characters are great and can clearly see Aleron setting up for the long game with his world building, an absolute must read for anyone who loves fantasy books!
