DND BASE & TOP GEL (DND DC 800/900 BASE AND TOP GEL SET)

March 10th 2022 review: Base and top coat are amazing! I knew this brand was gonna be so good because it’s the same my nail tech uses :) It’s so perfect! I’ve been doing my nails at home and this set is incredible! I have very very fragile nails, they break so easily but the top and base coat harden them up! I’ll update my review after a couple days of use :) March 23rd update: The base and top coat are amazing. It lasts so long, lasts 2 weeks which is perfect for me because that’s around the time I want to change my nail color. I highly recommend buying

I do my own pedicures/manicures at home. DND products are the only nail polishes I’ll use. They go on so nicely and last awhile. Will forever use!

Cures clean and lasts long, this is by far my favorite Polish. I'm no professional but I feel this polish is very beginner friendly. The base and top coat, as well as the black and white are all dnd. All colors need a base and top clear coat. I do my nails myself and have used many products. This is the best.

I only use the top coat as I use gelx extensions and do not want the final product to look thick. I love the quality of the top coat and how it finishes my nails perfectly

I recently purchased the DND Base & Top Gel set, specifically the DND DC 800/900 Base and Top Gel set, and overall, I am quite satisfied with its performance. This duo delivers reliable results for long-lasting manicures, earning a respectable 4-star rating. However, it is important to note that the chemical smell of the gels is quite strong, which can be overwhelming during the application process. Starting with the positive aspects, the base gel in this set provides a strong foundation for the manicure. It aids in better adhesion and extends the longevity of the gel polish. I found that the base gel helped prevent chipping and lifting, ensuring a durable manicure. It applies smoothly and cures well under a UV or LED lamp, allowing for easy and convenient application. The top gel adds a beautiful glossy finish to the manicure, giving it a professional and salon-quality look. The high shine lasts for a significant period, maintaining a vibrant and polished appearance. The top gel also offers a protective layer that guards against color fading and keeps the nails looking fresh. It cures efficiently and does not require excessive curing times, ensuring a quick and efficient manicure process. The durability of the DND Base & Top Gel set is worth noting. When used together, they significantly extend the life of the manicure, reducing the need for frequent touch-ups or repairs. With proper application and nail preparation, I have enjoyed manicures that lasted up to two weeks without major chipping or wear. This long-lasting performance is a significant advantage of this gel set. However, the strong chemical smell emitted by the gels is a notable drawback. The overpowering scent can be quite unpleasant and overwhelming, especially for individuals sensitive to strong odors. The scent persists even after the curing process, which can detract from the overall experience of using the gels. It would be beneficial for DND to consider developing an alternative with a milder scent to enhance the user experience.

I've used this particular base and top coat for a few years, it's very reasonably priced and works very well. It can be on the runny side when the bottles are first opened, so you do have to be conscious of that and make sure not to overload your brush to avoid flooding the nail. But like most gel products, these do thicken a little bit over time, and then it's easier to avoid that issue. These are MUCH cheaper than OPI's gel base and top coats, and I find they work just as well.

This has been my go to duo for some time now. My nails seem to last longer and the shine does not disappear! It’s by far my favorite and I can’t see myself trying any others!
