Fun to read and very informative
I loved this book's humor combined with detailed wild recipes, but most of all I loved her personal comments that made you feel as though she's sitting in your kitchen sharing her best secrets.

One of the loveliest and most inspiring cocktail books I’ve ever seen! Great for the PNW!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for a close friend and when we were looking through it upon her receipt, I decided that I had to have it. As Pacific Northwesterners that live in this woods and areas where we can forage a lot of these things (Chanterelle syrup anyone?), this is definitely a must have. Even if you don’t imbibe, these recipes would be great for virgin style drinks or to make and give as gifts. Holistic drinking? That’s my kind of drink.

Fabulous book for wild foragers!
I absolutely love this book! I have had it for almost a year now and it has been my entertainment, recreation, and constant companion. I have tried about 20 of these delicious cocktails so far. Now a second year of foraging is upon me and I can try new ones that I couldn't get to last year. I hope I can get acorns this year! I live in Michigan and I'd say a majority of the ingredients can be found where I live. Some amazing sounding cocktails require ingredients from other climates like the west coast of the US where I believe the author is from. If you are looking for cocktails that you can whip up with just a simple run to a grocery and liquor store, this book is not for you. It takes some (fun!) work and planning ahead. Some cocktail components like the simple syrups can take as little as 5 - 10 minutes whereas others like the mulberry liqueur, elderflower champagne, or crab apple infused bourbon can take a week or more sitting in jars and doing their thing. Not only have I enjoyed this book, but so have my friends and family!

The Next Level in Mixology, Written in a Delightfully Down-to-Earth, Entertaining Manner.
Because Ellen Zachos is a friend and foraging buddy, I have had the good fortune of tasting the results of her wild mixology. The drinks she concocts with foraged ingredients are delicious, intriguing, and well-balanced. In her book, she not only takes you through the botanical details you will need to know in order to make her cocktail recipes, but also shares great foundation skills for inventing your own imbibe-able recipes. Highly recommended.

There are a lot of helpful recipes in this book if you’re into foraging and or a bartender or mixologist. Then this book is for you. It’s full of interesting inspirational motivating cocktails. That can help any bartender be inspired to create his own.

Awesome Field Guide & Recipes
Got it as a gift for my partner who is a professional bartender. They are very interested in learning more about cocktail ingredients, and its fabulous for learning techniques like making your own bitters and infusion syrups. It's really neat to have a field guild to finding things in your area.

Good if you live in the USA
A nicely laid out book, with a very readable style. Unfortunately of little use in the UK as many of the foraged plants are not native to our shores, so it was disappointing in that respect.
