Elizabeth as a Boy
I've read many P&P variations but I didn't think I would ever read one where Elizabeth would stop kissing Darcy not because of her maidenly virtues but because she didn't have a "cock"! Lol And I loved it! I'm so glad this isn't the typical story of a girl pretending to be a guy that falls in love and is pining for a guy friend. The guy friend has no idea and is not attracted to him/her. In this story, Darcy falls for Bennet and is attracted to him right away. He's confused about it of course but he is so cute. At one point he's jealous of Caroline flirting with Bennet and thinks about marriage. If you can't picture Darcy as anything but a typical straight male this isn't the book for you. If you believe that Darcy would fall in love with Elizabeth no matter what you will enjoy this book like I did.

Great Story Twist
This is the second book by this author I have read. While not usually a fan of the "steamy" JAFF this one drew me in from the first page! Great storyline, well developed and interesting characters. I like this "vulnerable" Mr Darcy! Disappointed it ended so soon, but anxiously await the next installment. In the meantime I plan to order and read the rest of this authors books! Great way to spend a lazy day reading! A+++++++!

Saucy romp
I really enjoyed this saucy romp. Every since I finished part one, I have been trying to figure out how our couple will make it to their HEA. I am waiting with bated breath and keen anticipation for part two.

To be a man is, precisely, to be responsible. — Antoine de Saint-Exupery
The Bennet family of Longbourn in Hertfordshire carries a very big secret. Many years earlier, contagion struck Meryton, resulting in the death of Elizabeth Bennet’s infant twin brother, Elias. Mr. Bennet was also desperately ill and Mrs. Bennet feared his death would result in her family’s expulsion from their home. She buried her “daughter” and raised her “son” even after Mr. Bennet’s eventual recovery.Elias/Elizabeth (hereinafter referred to as E/E) is a slightly built young man but an expert in the manly art of self-defense. E/E feels the responsibility of the heir to the estate.Quote from the book: Mostly, deception sat easily on Elias’ shoulders. She preferred life as a boy. She was light and fast on her feet, and her Uncle Gardiner’s boxing lessons, instruction he would never have offered to Elizabeth, meant she could use speed and technique to overcome any deficiencies in strength, which grew more noticeable as the other village boys reached their growth. While Elias was not fond of riding, no awkward skirts meant she could sit astride, making the entire thing far more bearable. And Elias, unlike many of the young village men, adored dancing and never lacked for a partner.During a London visit to the Gardiners, E/E happens upon two young men who are under attack from street ruffians. E/E intervenes in the fight and forms a friendship with Charles Bingley and Fitzwilliam Darcy. Who could have a grudge against such an amiable man as Bingley?Darcy enjoys the young man’s company but feels an uncomfortable attraction to him.The Darcy family of Pemberley, Derbyshire also has secrets.A mystery exists concerning Fitzwilliam’s near-death from drowning as a teen. He was saved by two young women who remain unidentified.Quote from the book: After Bennet had left, Darcy had finished the flask. He was not proud of this. Drinking oneself unconscious was a tactic favored by his father, the core of the screaming battles between father and mother that left the Darcy children clinging to each other in the dark of night. Until illness, or perhaps the grinding frustration, had ended her life. This is the first of a series that the author intends to combine into a single book upon completion. Each part of the series will end with a Cliffhanger (mild in this first installment). It is an unusual premise and an intriguing mystery. Whether you choose to read the series one-by-one or wait for the story’s completion, it is a book I would recommend.I received an ARC of this book, with no promise of a review. It is fatal to be a man or woman pure and simple: one must be a woman manly, or a man womanly. — Virginia Woolf

short, sweet, and saucy!
A charming gender-swapped P&P variation with action and adventure and just the right amount of illicit attraction! I love this version of Darcy - still stern and controlled but not a dick. Not wholly into dicks, as it turns out, despite some youthful experimentation (and now I'm having visions of a bisexual Mr. Darcy played by Colin Firth that I had no idea how much I needed in my life!), but maybe willing to be undone by the tempting Mr. Bennet. I like this Elias (neé Elizabeth) too - confident and capable, content with her ruse as a man even if that means she's 'neither fish nor fowl' and more concerned about hurting Darcy in the keeping of her secret than her own happiness. Short enough to read in one sitting (which I did) but long enough to be a satisfying mini-story.I received an ARC from the author but this is my honest opinion and I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Wow what a tangled web
Please note I received arc for an honest review.Wow what a tangled web woven by a desperate situation by women who have no idea of the consequences.Elizabeth is born a twin but her brother does not survive much past his birth. Mr. Bennet is ill and Mrs. Bennet fear of losing her home is great. One shocking choice and Elizabeth is now Elias and grows up as a boy.Elias has the personality and interests to make her identity well hidden. The family does their best to cover and give Elias skills to keep her safe in a mans world, that is until she meets the one man who stirs her female feelings. Darcy plays a huge part and almost forgets himself when he is near Mr. Elias Bennet. I’m looking forward to the next book.
