How is this remote attached to the wall?

Two screws - the remote slides down onto the top screw and the bottom screw secures the remote in place.

Can someone tell me what a learn button is?

On the back of the motor head normally under a light cover is a learn button green, orange/red purple or yellow in color it will be on the side that the antenna is hanging down
