Morrison’s Spanish Chorizo Ring, 200g: The Legendary Sausage of La Mancha
Backstory:Long ago, in the rolling hills of La Mancha, Spain, a humble chorizo maker named Don Emilio stumbled upon an ancient recipe hidden within the folds of his grandmother’s cookbook. Legend had it that this recipe was gifted to his family by a wandering troubadour in exchange for shelter during a storm. The troubadour claimed the sausage contained more than just paprika and pork—it was infused with the fiery spirit of Spain itself.According to folklore, whoever crafted the chorizo with true care and passion would create a delicacy so flavorful that it could inspire bravery, rekindle lost love, and even ward off curses. Don Emilio, driven by equal parts curiosity and hunger, followed the recipe to the letter. As the first batch sizzled, a vibrant red smoke rose from the pan, forming the shape of a ring—an eternal symbol of Spanish tradition.Centuries later, the Morrison’s Spanish Chorizo Ring, 200g is said to be made in the same spirit as Don Emilio’s legendary creation. While it may not literally summon bravery or banish curses (though I wouldn’t rule it out), it certainly delivers the bold, smoky flavor that has kept this recipe alive through the ages. The Encounter:When the chorizo arrived with my Amazon-Morrisons delivery, I immediately felt its weighty presence—200g of pure culinary history coiled into a perfect ring. I sliced into it, and the aroma of smoked paprika and garlic filled the room, transporting me to a lively Spanish fiesta. My first test was a classic: pan-fried chorizo slices tossed into a simple pasta dish. As the chorizo hit the heat, it released its fiery red oils like it was performing a dance on the pan. Every bite was a celebration—bold, smoky, and bursting with flavor. Was it bravery I felt as I tackled a second serving? Perhaps.Review:Pros:1. Authentic Spanish Flavor: The smoky paprika, subtle garlic, and perfectly spiced pork create an unmistakable chorizo experience.2. Versatile Culinary Hero: Slice it for pasta, dice it for paella, or eat it straight from the package—it’s a star in every dish.3. Perfect Portion: At 200g, it’s just the right size for multiple meals or one truly indulgent recipe.4. Affordable Luxury: Bringing a taste of Spain to your kitchen without the airfare.5. Visual Appeal: The ring shape isn’t just practical—it’s iconic, adding a rustic charm to any charcuterie board.Cons:1. Oil Liberation: It releases a lot of flavorful oil when cooked, which can be a blessing in a dish but a curse for cleanup.2. Spice Sensitivity: If you’re not a fan of smoky heat, this chorizo might be a touch too bold for your palate.3. Too Good to Share: Your family or guests may claim more than their fair share, leaving you to fend for your portion.Unexpected Adventures:Halfway through the week, I decided to toss diced chorizo into a breakfast scramble. As the aroma wafted through the house, my neighbor stopped by “to borrow sugar” but left with a plate of eggs and a newfound appreciation for Spanish sausage. Another day, I tried it as a topping for pizza—transformative doesn’t even begin to describe it.The real magic, however, came when I added slices to a pot of simmering lentil stew. As the flavors melded, I swear I could hear faint echoes of Spanish guitar music. Coincidence? Maybe. But the dog howling in rhythm was definitely new.Final Thoughts:The Morrison’s Spanish Chorizo Ring, 200g isn’t just food—it’s a bite of Spanish folklore. Its bold, smoky flavor and versatility make it a must-have for anyone who wants to channel the spirit of Spain in their cooking. Whether you believe in its legendary origins or not, there’s no denying the magic it brings to every dish.Would I recommend it? Absolutely. 10/10—for taste, tradition, and the faint possibility that it might summon a fiesta. Bonus tip: Save the flavorful oil left behind after cooking—it’s liquid gold for drizzling over roasted vegetables or bread.

Tasty
Purchased this product to use in pasta and chicken and chorizo casserole. Have used another brand previously and had to throw the food away due to the awful taste. This one has a much better flavour. If you are looking for a cheaper, tasty chorizo, this is for you.

Terrible test
Very oily and the taste terrible. It doesn't taste like chorizo. My feijoada was great before I use that chorizo!
