Born A Healer: I Was Born a Healer. You Were Born a Healer, Too!

Get the course, ignore the book.
First of - the program WORKS, and the benefits are FREAKING AMAZING. This book, however, is considerably less useful. Many of the scientific experiments cited in the book have been heavily criticized by the more scientific types as not being well controlled, and testimonials should rarely ever be taken seriously. If you're interested in advertisements and a bit of Chunyi's personal background (which is a somewhat interesting story), then you might have some interest in the book…but for most others I would say to buy the cheap version of the course from his website, and see how well it works for you. I was so impressed by my experience with it that I actually coughed up about $3000 to go attend a retreat of his up in Minnesota…I'm not sure if I would advise that either, unless you're incredibly serious about taking your practice further; I'm currently considering attending a Level 4 retreat.

Energy channelling for real
I have studied different forms of Tai Chi, other forms of martial arts and acupuncture. I w a s introduced to Qi Gong during the same time frame. I never went further than the introduction till now. I saw Master Lin on You Tube showing how powerful we all are at channeling energy. I had to read the book. For those who have suffered years of medical problems Qi Gong may be the answer. A 5,000 year medical healer that works. Read the book and go to the website.

Very Informative Read About Gigong
An excellent introduction to Spring Forest Gigong. If a person is willing to commit to doing the exercises and meditations his/her life will change for the better.

Born a Healer
I thoroughly enjoyed Master Lin's book. He was able to take a complicated subject and keep it simple as he always strives to do.This book motivated me to do home courses of Spring Forest Qigong and finally attend a Retreat. Things just became better and better as I looked deeper.Master Lin's life story of rough early days and then finding his own path to becoming a Gentlemen Qigong Master was also very inspiring.

Wonderful Introduction to Qigong
I purchased this book after reading Happy for No Reason, which profiled Chunyi Lin. He has an incredible life story to share, and the stories of his students are very inspirational. This book isn't meant as an instructional manual for Qigong, rather a modern day look at the healing potential of this practice. I've since ordered his introductory DVD to begin practicing this art myself.

Autobiography worth reading
This is really an autobiography with a message. Love. If you are looking for details of exercises this may not be for you. Personally, I enjoyed every page. With details of Master Lin’s childhood under Mao tyranny, through his own physical challenges and his resultant cures, (no doubt someone will take issue with this word, but if you suffer from an ailment and later no longer have the issues, then you are cured, or not?) following his training with many masters. And the resultant Qi Gong method he devised. Have been doing basic Qi Gong exercises for many years, and find they are beneficial. Have also followed some of the basic Spring Forest Qi Gong exercises available online. These are to improve health and encourage healing, I feel they do help and am now planning to test the online courses available. Don’t knock something until you’ve given it a fair trial. I enjoyed this short book and it helped me understand the foundation of Spring Forest Qi Gong.

Lovely book
What I found most interesting was reading about Chunyi Lin's traumatic childhood during the Cultural Revolution and in particular his determination not only to survive, but to go on and prosper. I wonder if we in the west have such inner determination and self discipline? Following the course should answer that!
