Morrisons Halloumi, 225 g

So beautiful, words almost fail me, but why is haloumi so hard to open?

We love halloumi but this was way too sty for us. Maybe it was a one off issue as we’ve not eaten this variety before but their cheaper “grilling cheese” is far better.

This halloumi was unlike any other I have ever had anywhere before. Halloumi is normally firm when it is being cut and does not melt under a grill. This halloumi was very soft and unpleasant to the touch when cutting. When diced into cubes and put under the grill, the cheese melted into a flat mess. If this was my first experience with halloumi, I would never have made another purchase. Luckily, I have used dozens of other brands in the past and know that this one is the exception.

Like others say, it crumbles when cut, then it melts in the frying pan, won't firm up. The first I cooked I threw away without trying. Second attempt I had the misfortune to taste it and regretted it straight away. I would say it's about 70% salt. Not like any other Halloumi I've every tried.

When I opened it. It was slimy and smelled awful. I had to throw it away. I didn’t find a way to complain or get refunded for it.

Possibly the worst halloumi I've ever tasted. Disgustingly salty and very runny when frying. I usually don't write reviews but this tastes awful and I'll have to bin the 2nd one I bought.
