Not at all. Just didn't like the paintings in the book.

This was a book for my wife who recently took up oil painting after years of water colors. she loves it, says it gives all the info she needs and provides ideas as well.

I was under the impression that this was a step by step painting instruction book. That was not the case. Most of the paintings were unattractive and in a step by step format they were not! The Roy Lang paintings were the only ones that even resembles what I would call artist's paintings. I'm not at all happy with this book and will probably never use it.

This book helped me considerably. I would recommend it for any artist whether they are beginners or advanced. I love painting seascapes.

Tricky one first 81 pages are for the most part dross, From Roy Lang onwards quite brilliant. Half the book is genius the other half not so good.

The printing is not good but useful information.

Wonderful pictures to get your juices going! Lots of tips and a number of illustrations to follow and can be used with acrylics which is my preferred medium at present

thought this was a great book lots of good ideas and great for me just starting . Very helpful lovely selection of all types of styles
