Nicely and quick delivery
Nicely and quick delivery. Decently packed in a compact recipient so that it fits the mailbox.Very good and detailed book, however not for a novice.

OK content but poorly worded
I bought this because I'm a c++ programmer and this book is c++ based. The concepts are OK but the text is verbose with bad grammar throughout, to a point that it is hard to follow. I would suggest to first read O'Reilly's "Programming Robots with ROS" (2015). O'Reilly's book is Python based, but much clearer in it's presentation. Mastering ROS is useful as a second resource for topics like XACRO that are not covered by the O'Reilly book.

Two Stars
it's pretty much a regurgitation of the official documentation and tutorials packaged in a book and outdated.

Five Stars
Good covers Indigo an Jade, unlike the OSRF book, which was outdated by the time it got to press.

Ok, but needs work
The content was ok, but the tutorials seemed to skip steps and assume knowledge occasionally. For example p. 111 says to "add fixed frame:/odom" and the topic /scan" with no indication of what that means or how to do it. I did come in with a general understanding of ROS concepts, but not a specific experience with ROS tools, so perhaps I was missing some prerequisites for a "mastering" book.A minor note was that the books were obviously written by proficient but non-native English speakers, so there are several consistently odd language patterns that I found a bit off putting. Example: a group of code in English is (admittedly illogically) still just code, so the constant misuse of the word "codes" to refer to code grated on me.
