I've started camping in my Tesla Model 3 a lot with the pandemic going on and found it was really annoying to eat or watch my iPad in the car from the driver's seat.I found this item while looking for a solution and tried it out for the first time over the weekend. I used a microfiber cloth to protect the steering wheel (after reading about the possibilities of scratches), but the tray fit perfectly and was stable enough for me to rest my iPad on the steering wheel, eat a bowl of salad, and rest my beer in the cup holder. I think it'll work great for a laptop too.I would _not_ use this while driving as that's just unsafe, but if you use camp mode a lot or need a desk to use while charging, this works fantastic.

I saw something like this on one of the Tesla YouTube channels, and was intrigued. A pretty low risk for $20, so I bought one.It fits to the Tesla Model 3 steering wheel very easily, it's very sturdy, and with a small lip on the edge, to stop the food crumbs from falling off the edge.In the days of COVID, this is a very handy device. Buy food at the drive-in, park the Model 3, select a suitable profile to get the seat and steering wheel to an appropriate distance, mount table, eat food while watching YouTube or Netflix. Very Civilized.No more crumbs falling between my legs onto the drivers seat. Life is good.

It does not fit in seat back pocket.

I purchased two of the auto steering desks and it does exactly what it is supposed to do, I would purchase again.

If you ever eat in the car this is a must. It hooks onto the bottom of the steering wheel and stays there. Watch some videos on the monitor and have some lunch without making a mess.

Tray sits much higher than pictured but still useable. Ok given the price. Use it.

I bought this to eat more comfortably in the car when necessary. (I like eating at tables)But I actually ended up using it for working in my car. The side with the cup-spot; has a lip that that is perfect length and height to hold the bottom of a 16” MacBook Pro.So I rest the hinge of my laptop on the steering wheel itself while it’s bottom edge of the keyboard is held by the lip of the tray.It’s sturdy enough to type on.But I do put a piece of padding between the bottom of the steering wheel and the tray to keep it from marring up the front bottom of the steering wheel.

I love the extra room for food I get when watching movies and charging. Just put it on at a good and and it goes on without forcing or rubbing. Pretty easy if you know what you're doing.
