SecuQuest VisionClear CAM1215-B1N 700 TVL Bullet Security Camera - DeMist/DWDR/DNR - Night/Day - Outdoor - Varifocal 2.8-12 mm Lens

I purchased 2 of these cameras. The first camera was amazing and worked perfectly and has been running for about 2 weeks. It's clear and sharp and has vivid color. I did not focus or zoom it not did I attempt any electronic adjustments. It's a huge improvement over my old Night Owl cameras that are 7 years old!After a week away from home, I returned today to install the second camera. (Up on the second story eve!) As soon as I came down the ladder to look at the pictures, it was not good. The image in the shadows looked like it was a lake or ocean, complete with waves moving. I let the camera run for about 6 hours. I then decided to try this camera in another location. Moved the camera and there was no image. The LED's were lighting up, and the camera body was getting very warm.So this one is being returned. I will buy another one simply because the price is right and it works well with my old Night Owl DVR. Hopefully I'll get a good one again. I'll update this with some pictures following the replacement!I give only my opinion and I am not given any special offers for my reviews.Well Camera 2 died with about 2 weeks of use. I am returning this one as well and downgrading my rating to a 1. Unless you want to go through this much trouble, I suggest you look elsewhere. I am.

Beautiful camera, easy to mount, setup and focus. Vivid and crips daylight colors and image.Night time issuesStays in cor to very low light and amplifies remaining light. Image degrades with hot spots. Coupled with ndvr newer h264 stream you end up with poor recordings and remote smartphone image.As soon as bw night mode switches on the image is amazing.There should be a menu option to disable amplification of color image. Or adjustment of point to switch to night mode.

Where else can you get a VariFocal 960h camera for this price? This camera has very clear day vision with good color. I really like the SecuQuest cameras with VisionClear. VisionClear really makes the night time vision super clear, no extra noise in the picture. This camera also has OSD which allows settings such as color changes, brightness, contrast, noise reduction and more. Also has a heavy duty metal housing no plastic.

The quality of this camera is very good. The unit seems to be made with quality materials and it does not look like other cheap plastic outdoor cameras, but the price is very reasonable compared to other high-end cameras. The VisionClear feature is very nice as well as it allows you to get a much better quality image, especially for night time conditions. Mounting is very easy as well and works great for my coax based security system.You cannot beat this camera for the price and quality combination.
