I just started tig welding and the electrodes need to to be set at a certain length from the the cup this tool makes it very easy to set length so no more tape measure or eye balling

Stick out is not hard but this is quick and easy

Super great saves time and eliminates guesswork adding to consistency. I have a tackle box for all my tig stuff and this guy goes in there with my tig feeder pen and tig finger heat shield. Get you a stubby lens kit as well and cut ur tungsten's in thirds and keep a bunch sharpened in case you dip ur tip.

This tungsten stick out gauge is a nice size and will make a great addition to any welding table. I have found it much easier to get the perfect tungsten stick out after swapping gas cups or accidentally dipping the tungsten, it makes the task of repositioning the tungsten quicker and less of a thing to worry about. I highly recommend this to any new welders or even a gift for a welder you might know.

I'll start with saying that the hole depths seem accurate. The rest is embarrassing. I bought this because it was made in the USA. The block of metal seems to have been cut off the UN squared end of a piece of bar stock. No attempt made to square it out flatten it. The holes are all over, not lined up with each other or the machined labels. Considering these are likely CNC made, i can't imagine how little effort was put into the program.

I barely use it! But it’s there, I thought I would need it as a student but I ended up not needing it

There are so many new parameters to TIG welding I wanted to remove one of the variables. Now I get to concentrate on the other variables to TIG welding

This has made me a better welder. Strongly recommended.
