A Decent Reference For Any WIndows 10 User
I purchased this as a birthday joke for my wife and it turned out to be somewhat useful and informative. Windows 10 is a moving target and it's impossible for a book to stay current, but this book does cover the basics and would be helpful for anyone, not just seniors, making the transition to WIndows 10. It also reinforces, not intentionally, that WIndows 10 is in many ways a media for Microsoft to force advertising and give your name and contact information to advertising companies (for profit, of course). There are a number of things that previous versions of Microsoft did that Windows 10 doesn't do to make computer life easier (Windows Mail and web searching are but two of many examples), but in other ways it is an improvement over earlier versions. Windows 10 for Seniors will lose you if you don't have a computer backgound and it could be much better written, but it does provide a reference for many things Windows 10 that will make your experience easier and it has a good index to help you find things. I do wish it told more about how to set (and occasionally reset) your Windows 10 and Microsoft Account settings to minimize intrusion by Microsoft and its partners.

Do not recommend this book for your senior user.
This is a terrible waste of money. The directions are unclear, the pictures are so small that you cannot read the print and often times cannot even figure out what they are talking about. So sorry that I ordered this. For a senior with any kind of vision issues it would be useless due to the small print. To anyone not great with computers will be full of vague descriptions and directions.

This book is easy to understand and does it in a chronological order ie you are not doing something out of cyberspace when you don't know what cyberspace is. Would recommend.

Excellent product for "Golden Oldies"!
The early chapters were for outright beginners with Windows 10, as I had already bought a guide book previously I just skipped those. The rest of the book was very informative, instructions were clear and concise and it helped a 75 year old to a much better understanding and usage of Microsofts' latest product. This was a far better buy than the previous book I had bought.

I am truly pleased with this book as it has helped me understand the new set up employed by Microsoft, although I have sometimes to read the text again as some spects do not appear clear straight away, otherwise very good value for the money.

Not for me!
I really don't recommend this manual. Have previously bought 'Dummies' series for earlier systems. This book in no way matches up. The style is confused and confusing. Whilst the Dummies books set out the facts in a concise and relevant order, this reads like a jumbled hotchpotch. Sadly I could not recommend this book. Off now to re-order - Windows 10 for Dummies for me!!

Windows 10 got me in the end!
I was always happy with Windows 7 but finally succumbed to trying Windows 10 on my laptop. I thought it might be different enoughfor me to need things explaining so I plumped for this 'for Seniors' book on Kindle to get immediate help (being of A Certain Age).As it happens, there aren't too many tweaks from 7 but I have found this book very helpful and it's well laid-out and illustrated. Beingthere on my iPad I can easily refer to it when I get stuck with some term or process on the laptop. I have since bought a couple of 'print'manuals but use this Kindle book most.

Great delivery - not so easy
Purchased this book hoping it would be a beginner guide to windows 10 (I am not senior but computer illiterate!) not as easy as I was hoping it would be. It is still expecting you to have some knowledge which I clearly do not have.

COLOURFUL GUIDE
A decent guide for windows which has clear text and just as important COLOUR pictures. All l need now is my windows ten installation which is being done by my local computer store and l shall have a decent windows system l hope after the Windows 8 farce. For the price this is good value.

Disappointed
Not finding this easy to use, would give anything NOT to have Windows 10, way too complicated after previous versions. However that is Microsoft thing, "improving" things that didn't need improving.

Easy, user friendly manual for wrinklies!
Found this useful as a reference for Windows 10 as I was finding it difficult to get to grips with. I am 61 years old and retired from work 5 years ago so things have moved on quite a lot. This book has helped as you don't need a dictionary to decipher the techie language!

A good book but misses out some computer basics.
This a good book, well written and well illustrated. However it assumes the reader has some basic knowledge of computers which is not always the case.
