Pricey, but what you get what you pay for. Amazing aesthetic and if you can understand basic instructions the install is very simple. The amount of airflow is truly impressive and even at 100% speed this is probably one of the quietest fans I've ever heard in my life. Price is the only negative, but all I can say is that it's worth it. Buy it on sale.

Overall, the fan seems to work great, once you get it working. The included instructions are completely laughable, and not what I would expect from a pricey fan that should be considered a top of the line item. There are several inaccuracies in the manual, which the company denies, and tells you to look at the manual online (it's the exact same thing).This listing specifically mentions that "Every Modern Forms Aviator Smart Fan includes an Energy Efficient, High Powered LED Light Kit." This is NOT accurate. The light kit is sold separately, regardless of what this listing says in two different places. Although the bullets at the top do specify that the light kit is sold separately, there are two other locations in the description that say that the kit is included.As another reviewer mentioned, the fan blades are plastic, not the wood that is described in the description. It is a good reproduction of the wood once hung, but is NOT wood (the assumption that it was made with real wood is one of the things that I used to justify the high cost).Once it is up and running, with no thanks to the included directions, the fan seems to work well, and moves a lot of air. I'm now off to buy the light kit. Frustrating, considering the cost of the fan.The manufacturer needs to review their directions and how they are marketing the fan to help ensure a streamlined experience for the user.

I was prepared to leave a scathing review here, as I encountered several issues and returned my first fan. But I reordered the same model, and the replacement was fine. It's a beautiful, quiet, sturdy fan and works perfectly. Its on the high end of fan prices, so my expectations were high and, after the hiccups, they are met.First, a warning. There is a significant part that comes in the box that is not mentioned in the manual anywhere - not in the parts list and not in the instructions. The part is sort-of depicted in a drawing, but not clear enough to make up for the wrong instructions. There are a few other places where the instructions are wrong, but the images are accurate. I'll call the part in question the "blade mounting plate". I'm making up a name because, as noted, it is not in the manual anywhere. The manual says "Attach the fan blades to the motor". There is no way to attach the fan blades to the motor (fortunately, or a lot of people would do it wrong). Rather, the fan blades attach to this mounting plate, which attaches to the motor. I think anyone mechanically inclined might figure this out, so it wasn't the end of the world. What was the end of the world, is 2 screw holes (out of 20) on this mounting place weren't threaded. I called the company, and they wanted to know the part number? I don't know- it's not in the manual. So they wanted to know the part name- I don't know, it's not in the manual. They suggested I look at the manual online- its the same one. So they instructed me to return the unit, which I did and ordered a new one (original purchase was through a home improvement store, and they no longer had the fan so I purchased the replacement on Amazon).I was half expecting another bad experience, in which case you'd be sure to hear about it here. But fortunately, all the holes were threaded on this one. A couple other caveats:- There are a handful of different screw types, and the manual is unclear about what screw goes with what (in fact, it mentions "fan screws and washers" but the fan screws do not have washers. The only way to deduce which screw is which, is by the quantity (and there is 1 extra - so 4 fan screws x 5 blades + 1 extra = the screw that has 21 is the fan blade screw).- The blades look like beautiful wood, but they are plastic. I was surprised by this because it doesn't say it anywhere and at this price point I was expecting real wood. But with the fan mounted, it looks like very high quality wood. Most likely, the plastic is actually better from a stability and longevity standpoint. So, just keep in mind if you really expect this to be made from wood.That's the negatives. Fortunately, the instructions on the electrical connections were accurate, and everything including getting this working with the app and with my alexa and other smart-home gadgets was smooth fast and easy. I had read comments of others having problems here with other fans from Modern Forms, but that was not my experience. It worked the first time without a hitch. The fan came with a wall-mounted bluetooth controller, which I thought was an extra accessory. But actually, I can't use it. So I was worried I'd have trouble getting it connected to the app and the controls I do have. But it wasn't a problem, it paired with the app and I'm happily controlling it 3 different ways now without a problem.On the high setting, this fan really moves a lot of air- and you can hear the air rushing. But there is zero noise from the fan motor. And the thing is rock solid on my ceiling without the slightest wobble. It's quite beautiful too.So, I'd give this 5 stars for form and function - but I'm knocking a star for quality control and really, really inexcusably lazy manual writing.

These fans are amazing!!!! Oh my goodness hold onto your hat!!! Quiet and better than any other ceiling fan I have ever seen (and we have ceiling fans in every room). We are in the process of changing our all our old fans to these. At first I thought “seriously who needs to control a fan from their phone” (it does have a remote) but now I’m all about it. Get one of these fans. They will blow you away!!!

I bought this fan as a Open box. Had everything but instructions but they were online. Love that its connected to Alexa. Also the Breeze function is so cool. It uses different fan speed to simulate a breeze of wind. Really neat function.

Stylish fan installed without issue. Did have to reset (after three years) to get the fan to work again. Tech support was helpful since the owners manual shows how to reset but not the way the tech instructed. Still happy with it four years later. People do show the fan doing its initial balance bumps on start up, but that is a reset issue. All in all, a good product, since support for the fan is there.
