Need to eye level with the unit and cannot leave the room when using the headset. Needs to be put in audio out in the cable box. There is a knob on the back of the headset for left and right. The knob needs to be in the middle in order for sound to come into both ears. Syncing instructions are on the last page of the manual. Headset is very easy to sync. NOTE: The headset needs a full charge for at least 6-8 hours before use. Device should be plugged into the audio out on the cable box. If the customer has digital audio out then they will need to purchase a digital to RCA converter to connect the device. The "power on" button on the headset should be turned off when charging and the transmitter turned on. If on the headset, the power is turned ON while charging, the light will stay red. Customer would need to turn the MIC off to just get the TV sounds. If you have the MIC on, you will hear everything going on around you. There is a knob on the back of the headset for left and right. The knob needs to be in the middle in order for sound to come into both ears. Transmitter should be adjusted to eye level while you are using the headset. The transmitter needs to be able to connect to the headset so it needs to have a clear direct route to signal to one another. Syncing instructions are on the last page of the manual.

Happy Camper
Love them. Easiest setup of any headset I have tried. They work really well. I had been looking for something to adapt my hearing aids to the TV, getting the volume has always worked but the words are still hard to understand. This came recommended by my hearing aid guy as a better option -- he turned down selling me something to make the recommendation, so I took it seriously. This has all the volume I neee and it really improves the clarity. I love the fact that I can watch with the TV at the volume set for the other people who are watching. Some reviewers complained that they broke too quickly, I invested $8 in a 4 year service plan, well worth the extra $8 if I know the set will last 4 years! One of the best parts is for the past few years I lost the ability to listen to books on CD while working in yard, house, garage. I can't get the volume on the portable loud enough or stay close enough to make it work. With this set, I unplug one cord, leaving the attachment in the back of the TV, then plug this into the headset jack on the CD player and I am set for books! I am thrilled! It is so easy to do I can change from TV to TV to CD player any time I want giving me total freedom to watch or listen to any TV or CD player in the house! I wish is didn't hang under my chin, but that is the ONLY (slight) negative. Would highly recommend. If you are worried about them being fragile, add the service plan just in case, then you know you have 4 years. Together this cost less than half of the last set I got and it is easier to set up, easier to use, easier to move between TVs and better clarity by far. I was going to get a second set, but I can move this so easy I don't think I need to.

Harumph
I sent it back the same day I got it. The description said it would work 72 feet away. i was just about 22 feet away and the sound was broken up. I would move closer and it was clear. I went back and forth a few times and the same thing happened. When the audio was not broken up it was clear and the tone changes were good. I was really disappointed that I could not keep it I do not recommend anyone to buy this.

Short term happy, three months later in the trash
I really liked this product for about three and a half months. It worked so well to let me hear the tv without turning the tv up so loud that others in the same room had to leave. I could even go to the kitchen and still hear the news it was great. Then about three months in, it started to go in and out, off and on. It's not keeping a charge long at all and I don't know what to do. The return date only lasted one month. The product help line lasted two months. Guess they figured if the product lasted a little longer than that they were home free. Now I have a product I paid $60 for but won't work after three and a half months. It doesn't seem worth it. If it cost a little less I would have bought another one, but if I can't even return this one I'll definitely try a different brand and never go Unisar again.

no longer work after 2 months
clear and comfortable. you do have to adjust the headset. It comes out of the box tight so gentle pressure bend them till the fit perfect.the sound from this little unit is so good it makes my stereo blush. for the last week I have been very comfortable watching movies. Nice to be able to walk around the house and still listen to the show. with a single touch of the center "blue" button, the TV sound is off and you have an amplifier for listening to spouse. or outside noise if the dog starts barking. I will update this if anything changes... Update: they no longer hold a charge of more than 10 min. sad they worked so well at first. guess I will try Best Buy.

Good product
My wife really likes the TV ears and they do work well with the TV and as a general hearing aid. When used in the hearing aid (not TV) mode, they pickup background noise like the receiver rubbing on your clothing. The only con is the transmitter display does not display a green light when the battery is charged. It stays red. I have gotten it to display green a couple of times by removing and replacing the headset many times.

Just What We Were Looking For!
We bought these for my father to use when my parents join us for dinner and a movie every week. He suffers from tinnitus and has a very difficult time making out what is being said in movies and shows despite having surround sound and cranking up the volume to the point that it triggers my husband's noise anxiety. (What a combination, right?)The sound in the headset is wonderful. You can adjust between 3 preset ways of boosting bass, treble, etc. You can control the volume with a dial on the set itself, as well as through the tv remote, depending on how they are connected. There is also a dial to adjust sound left and right so that the wearer can adjust for perfect stereo sound. (On the stand is another switch so that it can be set to mono instead.)I will admit that it did take a bit of problem solving on our part to figure out all the ways these are capable of being hooked up and used, but it wasn't a particularly long or difficult process. We are able to get the headphones to work in several ways - how they will or will not work for you just depends on how you have your tv and speakers set up, what audio output options you have, and the flexibility of the settings available on your components. (I would imagine that these headphones would work even with smaller, older tvs with only one audio out with a splitter and computer speakers.) For our set up which includes tv and surround sound speakers, we can use the headset alone, the headset and internal tv speakers together, or the headset and surround sound speakers together. This set is actually what we have needed and I certainly recommend this for others given their features and effectiveness thus far. (If anything changes, I will update and change the rating I have given it.)

Really great until Battery died.
I ordered this so I could listen to TV without bothering anyone else in the household. It worked great until I could no longer charge the battery. I might have been able to order a new battery, but web site for that was just too confusing. Went to plan B
