Sauder Dakota Pass Armoire, Craftsman Oak finish

Ok, first of all this is not solid wood...duh. I am not sure why so many reviewers are shocked by this. Anyways, if you can read and don't buy your tools from Walmart and keep them in a tacklebox in your house you can do this no problem. Directions are cake and after putting this together I had to laugh...I read a review about the gap in the doors and simply adjusted the gap screw and problem solved. Moving on...this is not some massive piece of furniture that you are going to climb in and end up in Narnia. Thats is exactly why I purchased it...I needed something to hang my body armor in and store some gear. The rod was the correct length despite all the reviews claiming the contrary. A note to the rod tho is is weight rated for 25lbs so I beefed it up to support the weight of my gear. All in all it is solid, it looks good and its cheap. For those looking for real wood move along and be prepared to spend $1000+ easy. Enjoy!

Sauder Dakota Pass Armoire in Craftsman Oak  - We are pleased with this purchase of the Sauder Dakota Pass Armoire in Craftsman Oak. It arrived on the 2nd day of the estimated 5-day delivery range. It was in a flat cardboard box that was about 6 to 8 inches thick and about 5 ft tall. The driver left it propped up against the wall on the outer edge of our front porch (not an ideal place to leave it, but it was fine). The box was very heavy for one small-person. When assembled, it looks just as described and is neutral enough to be work well in many décor styles. All the parts were there as well as a few extra screws and nails. The instructions were understandable. It took slightly over two hours for one man with a power screwdriver to assemble. The height (just under 5 feet tall) is a real plus and a rare find allowing ample room for storage, but still allowing ample room for a tasteful wall hanging above it. The lower height also helps to minimize the danger of it toppling over. The lower height is the one factor that sold us on this Armoire over others we were considering. The drawer slides nicely and works well. The hanging pole fits and it works, though it's just barely long enough. We plan to buy some rubber tips (like the ones for a walking cane) to make the pole a little more stable. We switched out the knobs for some that were more suitable to our taste (a very easy, and inexpensive adjustment to do). The quality is not top-of-the-line but for $254.00, It is a good value for the price. For a casual space, it looks much more expensive than it was. All factors considered, we would buy it again..

This is an amazing armoire. Very sturdy, a couple of pieces were damaged in shipping but customer service already sent out the replacement parts. I highly recommend, as you can’t go wrong. If anything happens in shipping Sauder takes care of it. It’s really a very nice piece.The 2 negatives is that I had to go to the hardware store and buy another pole, as the one it shipped with was not long enough to be stable for clothes hanging on it. And the shelf that it comes with, I was not able to use as unit is not tall enough to hang clothes and have the shelf in, even on the lowest setting. I was bummed about the shelf, as I would have liked to have utilized it for space, but there is not enough room for both hanging clothes and a shelf. Might work with kid clothes, but not adult clothes.

This looks nice, but was not easy to assemble. One of the drawer brackets arrived broken and was missing the wheel that the drawer glides in and out on. It's still usable but tilts a little.The hanging rod for clothes was too short for the closet by about an inch. My husband built a new one with a dowel from home depot, but it was frustrating to spend hours building and then have it not be usable right away because of the rod.

No reason it took 4 to 5 hours to put one of the two together that were purchased. We're missing little pieces, the hanging rod is too short to fit (it falls everytime). Most of the screws were too big. The holes for the shelf roller thing... too low. So we had to create our own holes. In the process of putting the top on.... it fell over and one entire side of the top connectors snapped! Not to mention the armoir itself is short! Probably about 5 feet tall. Something that would fit in a kids room! Not meant for adults!The colors of the armoire are beautiful. But the armoire itself..... not worth the money you spend on any of it.

These are absolutely gorgeous pieces but holy cow were they heavy to get up the stairs and to move around the room. Easy to put together but you need some extra muscle to carry them. Highly advise that you take them piece by piece from the main floor to the room you want it assembled in. Even the delivery guy was struggling to unload them and they do that for a living!

This is what I was looking for, but it’s ugly!! I’m a woman, and I wanted something pretty, but this is the only WoodCloset I found with the clothing bar all the way across the top. I needed it for extra closet space. It works, it’s sturdy, and serves the purpose!
