ReTrack Retractable Stereo Earbuds, Red/Black (ETAUDIOBLK)

We were having a hard time finding ear buds for my partner to take to the gym. He is semi paralyzed and has the use of only one arm/hand. The regular ear buds were always getting tangled in his pocket and it was difficult to untangle with only one hand. He wanted something to plug in to watch T.V while he was on the treadmill. Over the head earphones were too difficult to get on and off with one hand and he actually broke a pair trying to get them off. These retractable earbuds work great - he just plugs them in first and then pulls with one hand to unroll them. Then when he takes them out, he leaves the other end plugged in and pulls to get them to retract again. Finally, an answer to his problem. We will be ordering more for spares (he has a habit of leaving them in his pockets and they get laundered).

For the price I'm happy with what I got. I've read complaints that state it needs a clip otherwise it falls out of your ears. 3M makes adhesive little clips that fit on to this just fine and stay on my shirt. Spend a few extra dollars and get a pack of clips, and put one on these. The clips come in black, white, and clear.Sound quality is good, comes with 3 sizes of ear inserts. The winding feature works as described as long as you pull both ends at the same time.

This is the third one of these I have purchased I lost one set; the next one just stopped playing through one of the speakers. I think I crimped the wire. Now on the third (purchased from Amazon) and it works as expected. Attached to my iPOD. The rubber (?) inserts are very comfortable. Unit came with three sets (small, medium, large). Love the retractable cable to it stows neatly while traveling.

I wanted to love this item. I commute daily and by train and then have a mile walk and listening to music is key for me. Before these headphones I used a normal pair of earbuds, which would end up in my pocket it a tangled mess each day that I would have to untangle before listening.Enter the ReTrack Retractable Earbuds. In theory it was exactly what I was looking for, and in some ways it works well. In other ways, however, it comes up short.The Pros:1. The retractable feature works as expected. I've had it get funky on me a few times but was able to fix it by slowly working the mechanics a little. For the most part it retracts nicely as fits neatly into a coat or backpack pocket.2. Sound quality is decent considering the price. Standard earbud sound quality. Not too tinny or muffled.3. So far they have continued to function over a few months of daily use (think 2-4 hours per day).Cons:1. Due to the fact that there is a swivel/retractable component that sits in the dead center of the cabling, this causes ergonomic problems. The retractor piece is of decent size and weight and it hangs down right around your belly button or belt buckle. This is harmless if you are sitting on a train, but trying to walk around the retractor has weight and will lightly tug on your earbuds. Also, it will swing around and bounce like a pendulum as you walk. I find myself having to hold it in my hand as I walk to keep it from flailing around. This is an awkward position for my hand as it needs to be somewhere near my chest or stomach because of the core length. If it were higher up by sternum it wouldn't flail around as much. If it were lower, you could tuck it into a pocket neatly. The retractor is at a perfect height from the earbuds to me the most inconvenient. Forget running as these things would be tugging on your ears with each stride and the retractor would be flying around everywhere. I've also tried it under my shirt but the retractor is large and thus gets caught on the material which again tugs on the earbuds.Conclusion:I continue to use these, but only for my train ride. These days I am wearing a fleece to work that has an external left breast pouch that I put the chunky retractor in for my walking. Not ideal to need special clothing to get this to function but for now that resolves it. At this price point, I did not feel compelled to return these - but they are limited in use and I still need my other earbuds for working out, jogging and so forth.I've also used this company's auxiliary cable that retracts in my car and that worked perfectly. So I will continue to monitor this brand and see if they can figure out a way in the future to enhance the ergonomic aspect (reducing weight and size of the retractor or by lengthening the cord so that the retractor could sit in the pants pocket), which would bring this product up to a 5 star item for me.

I bought these for my son, as ear buds were on his school supply list. I thought these would be perfect! Within 1 minute of opening them, I noticed that one of the cords to the earbud was cut in half by the piece that holds the two strands together. I tried to fix it with electrical tape, but it didn't work. Other than that, the other aspects of this product seem great, but I'm very disappointed that they broke before we even got to use them.I had originally posted as one star, but I emailed the support team ([email protected]) and because they have a lifetime warranty, they are shipping me a new pair. All I had to do was send them a picture of the damage! I am very happy with their customer service.

Bought these for walking and working out. The round plastic part in the middle that houses the cord is so heavy when it’s retracted it pulls the earbuds out of your ears. So, you have to hold that part in your hand while exercising (or doing anything else for that matter.) The design is flawed. Yes, the retractable part works but you end up with a product you can’t use for its intended purpose.

These little earbuds have really good sound, much better than some I've paid 4 and 5 times more for, and retract the cord for easy storage. No more broken wires from trying to wrap them up! Three different sized ear pillows for a more custom fit. My husband likes them so much he buys a few every chance he gets. He now has a surplus of about 20 or more, he uses them 10 hour a day while sandblasting. Says he could never go back to no music, just earplugs. He now has trouble finding this style now, most have the ear hook wire which are uncomfortable under a blast hood.

Comfortable, fit in pocket working out, and they lasted 2 years. Can't beat that at all. Would buy again.

Got this to replace my older version that I’ve had for 5 years as it wasn’t retracting anymore.This one retracts well and has better sound quality.

and even the midrange is poor. Absolute trash/

I was disappointed with these. They crackled a lot, even at the highest level, the audio was not liud enough. Moving your head meant that you would hear a wooshing sound. All in all not what I thought it would be.

Does the job but the unit tends to retract to easily when you are using it, just snaps in on its own.Also, the unit is heavy and tends to pull the buds out of your ears. I had one similar to this that had a spring clip on the back that you could clip to your shirt or jacket and support the unit. Only comes with one size of ear buds(small) if you need bigger these will not stay on place.
