These lights can be mounted anywhere in the truck bed although typical installation in on the underside of the bedrails. The lights are water and ice proof via a silicone coating protecting the lights. All ends are sealed with silicone to prevent damage to the strips from water and ice. Strips come with 3M adhesive backing on them to allow installation on most clean, dry, smooth surfaces. In some cases additional adhesive may be required. Each kit includes 4 20" strips (2 strips for each side of the bed) so it is the perfect size for installing in any truck bed. The 2 strips are connected with 16" of wire in-between them and have an additional 20' of wire connected for each side of the bed so you can install them however you would like. How you connect them is up to you making this kit and install very flexible. You can install them to turn on when you open the door, when you turn on the dome light, or you can add a switch and turn them on whenever you would like. Lights will be brightest in a white bed. A black liner will make the lights look less bright.

So far so great for my aluminum ocean boat!
I have a 22' hewescraft aluminum boat. The deck is grey so i was worried that it would soak up the red light. I was definatly wrong! The deck lights up perfectly! I want to add a photo but as soon as i figure that out i will do it!I have only recently installed them and havent went through a winter yet but I will be putting these through a brutal test. So I will review this again later on in the future.UPDATEI have had these for a few years now. The lights have held up well, however one strand broke and had to splice it back in. The actual leds have not burned out though. These are exposed to a lot of water and mostly salt water.
